PK Subban might be on a generational run with his NHL Playoff predictions

Subban and Messier are quite possibly the worst studio analyst duo I’ve seen, for any sport, which is why I’m confident ESPN will continue to trot them out for the next decade minimum
Messier has no personality. He can barely speak a complete sentence. I have to think he must have had a different mind when he was this supposed amazing leader.

I saw them a few times and it feels like both just want to be going overboard being the loudest, brashest possible...

Yeaaaa. I always hated Messier, but still concerned about his overall health. He's been that noticeably bad sadly.

Hmm. You must’ve missed John Buccigross and AJ Mleczko.

Who cares? It's more proof how unpredictably the playoffs are

His only two bad picks were homer picks where he played in MTL and NJ, can't fault him there. He probably picked those with his heart v his head.

A lot of people had the Avs v TB as their final, Ottawa took to Toronto game 6, Kings imploded mid series.

The Subban hate is so annoying lol

1-6 so far and is one Winnipeg loss away from missing every first round matchup this year. (Except for that one)

Truly, truly impressive stuff from the man, the myth, and the legend.

seems like he’s obviously doing schtick here picking his former teams to advance / picking their rivals to lose.

I’m sure if they weren’t in the same bracket he’d have NJ and MTL meeting in the ECF.

Nothing will ever top the predictions from the sportsnet panel in 2021

IIRC 17/18 had Leafs over Habs, 18/18 had Jets over Habs, and 18/18 had Knights over Habs

PK Subban's predictions show the idea that "NHLers know more than the average fan" are dubious at best. They're better at PLAYING the game, but it doesn't automatically make every NHL player some sort of hockey genius that analyzes what they're watching on a level none of us regular plebs can't fathom.

Looks and acts like a mannequin. Interested to see what the on air talent looks like next season, this year was pretty bad

are there a thread were PO prediction is discussed?
I had 6/8 right, somehow i put Avs in 7 in the bracket but not on HF
then i put jersey in... but i had every game right in the 6, but
there were hoards of people who predicted every series right, even to the amount of games.

OnT
Subban just sucks, lazy prediction, would like to hear his rationale behind it.

Subban has tried way too hard to be shock value over solid analysis. Similar to Biz being a bozo more often than not (his comments about suspending Tkachuk for his hit on Guentzel was so dumb even Anson Carter was blown away).

The NHL lacks solid media minds. Maybe it's due to the culture of the hockey world, but these media guys either lack any charisma, or only bring charisma to the table.

Hopefully they find some talent soon

Yup, you have one ex player with no personality or charm and another ex hockey player who thinks being loud and weird clothes is personality.

ESPN does a horrendous job in all aspects. TNT is slightly better. NBC was far better.

Subban is obnoxious in this role, moreso than as a player if that is somehow possible.

Dude has such a hard-on hatred for the Canes, it's honestly pitiful. Like, bless his heart, he ESPECIALLY hates when we play the Devils. Sometimes it feels like hot-takes just for clicks and engagement, but this is showing he really might just be that out there. Sad too because I always thought he had an interesting personality to bring to the broadcasting crew, but he can't ever see past his own biases to the point you learn more when he's on mute.
