Thinking this might give Therrien a heart attack!!! The organization and fans love PK, and well Therrien has his toe nails to deal with..................
Therrien will be passing a ceremonial torch to PK, to mark the celebration.

It's rumored that Markov was supposed to be honored at the same time but he has a coaching job in the KHL so he couldn't get here
Not a rumor, it was confirmed by Chantal
Markov deserves to be honored in a huge way. Is the bridge burned because of how things ended?

He was invited and the plan was to honor him on the same night as PK.

Markov is too shy for this but he needs to have a similar ceremony.

Having retired Markov-Subban at the point on the PP right now would improve the PP dramatically lol.
Chantal said they plan to give him his own night when he can travel.
Then we can compare who got the bigger ovation between him and PK!

you know... we'll get all warm and fuzzy and tear-eyed during PK's highlight real and the standing ovation. And then Habs will play...

Is he even allowed to come here though? I know he is a Canadian citizen, but he is also a Russian citizen, is he not? I used to work with few folks from russia and still keep in touch. They cannot go anywhere.

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
Coolest player this team had in the 2 decades.
Yeah he was not perfect , like anyone else.
He was playing for the logo and loved it.
The fans loved him , admired him.
He helped a hospital full of kids for millions of dollars and kept his promise even when he was traded away.
He was someone worth spending money to watch a game.
His playoff performance were always amazing and electric.

As for the trade. It was a dumb move.
A terrible return for a prime Subban
The lockeroom issue continued even when he was gone , so he clearly was not the only problem.

My favorite PK Subban moment :

A real showman

I loved Weber, not sure the results would have been any different with PK here anyways. appears he wasn't wanted on other teams either , so he retires with millions in the bank and a charity in his name, he did well no matter what. I'm still mad they traded Koivu and leClair though

I was there for his 1st game back with Nashville and I am not missing this one.

Hopefully he can hop on the ice for the warm up and give us a show like he used to.

The best with the fans
With the media
On the ice
In the community

A breath a fresh air right from the rookie camp.

Thank you PK.

Earned $80 million during his career and saw a report last week that he spends $5000 US each month on food. Good on him, he can afford it.

I still remember his humble beginnings when he was grilling bison burgers on his balcony.

Yup. End of a day, an athlete who "made it" can do whatever they want with their money. PK was never given a free ride and has earned all the fame AND notoriety during his career.

I get he has a fair share of detractors, and apparently bitter social responsibility police-people, but there's no denying he's done a lot of good.

Markov deserves to be honored in a huge way. Is the bridge burned because of how things ended?

Back in October I was at a dinner with a group and P.K. was among the guests. He mentioned that evening that the Canadiens were planning on "honouring" both him and Markov together at some point during the season. He said they reached out to him right after he announced he was retiring and the way he was talking the plans remained very much in flux at that point.

When the official announcement came, there was no mention of Markov and I assumed it was because of the political issues and Markov being in Russia, but from what he was saying the organization very much wanted to show Markov the same respect.

He even made a joke about a logo with a 76 where the 6 would spin to become a 79, then back to 76, etc.

Koivu wasn't traded, he left as a free agent.

Yes, the point remains that he left not by choice, but because management told him they would not be offering him a new contract.

They gave him no supporting cast and he had enough either way, dude gave us everything he had.

He has some extra money because... you know.

His last shift - wonder if he ever found those gloves?
