Crazy that Doughty hasn't scored a goal on home ice this season.

I expect him to get more goals down the stretch. He's getting more shots through, his shooting percentage is just abysmally low and below his career average. Same with Brown, is why his play doesn't match his production. Essentially luck (obviously there's more at play, just avoiding overanalysis).

Doughty Shooting %: 2.9%
Career Avg: 6.2%
Career High: 11.3% (2010, 16 goals)

Brown Shooting %: 6.4%
Career Avg: 9.9%
Career High: 15.1% (33 goals)

Two guys I look to to break through.

Robitailles accomplishments are impressive, sure. Hall worthy. Number retirement worthy.

Statues should be reserved for players and personalities that transcend that stuff and become icons of the sport itself. So, Jordan in Chicago. Orr in Boston. Gretzky in Edmonton. David in Florence.

Luc in LA? It lacks gravitas and feels like a gimmick.

tend to agree with you. or maybe save it for a couple decades.

Is abysmal a strong enough adjective to describe Doughty's shooting%?

I asked Siri, and she had no answer. Doughty also has ZERO pp goals.
Watch McNabb shoot on the pp, then watch Doughty. McNabb gets it, then shoots, no messing around. Same with Marty. Doughty, well... we all know what he does.

Agree. I want to pretend it's because they give Doughty no space, which is also true, but if other defensemen all over the world can get those through, Doughty should be able to as well.

I distinctively remember in 2010 when they faced Vancouver in the playoffs, Doughty was a huge threat on that powerplay because he'd always get the puck through from the point with simple snap shots from the point for either deflections, redbounds or to sneak one in. Lately he trys to hammer the puck and get a huge windup going, instead of a simple flick, at least that's one thing I definitely remember.

Here's just one example I remember, which was Doughty's first career playoff goal, sorry for the 480p quality, only one I could find on youtube.
