Seems like a fit, though Bourque is probably too steep of a price.

Given DAL and PIT's respective timelines, and EK shoring up the DAL D core, I wonder if this might make more sense:

To DAL: EK @ 5M, O'Connor (as suggested above)
To PIT: Dumba, Bischel, '25 1st (no conditions), + (pick/prospect?)

Yes, you can't have conditional picks based on re-signing anymore but you can have conditional picks based on team success.

When did that change? When Ottawa traded Duchene to the Jackets in 2019 there was a 2nd 1st rounder that was conditional on him re-signing in Columbus

I feel like the Stars had something similar, back when they traded for Mats Zuccarello......conditional 1st rounder that would change to a lower pick if they didn't resign him, which ended up being the case.

Yup, per Puckpedia it became a 3rd cause he left

I would expect either Bischel or the 1st, not both.

Bichsel is another guy we expect to be a full playoff contributor and not really a prospect. Dallas just leaves their young guys in the minors for way longer than other orgs. He probably has even higher leaguewide value than Bourque too.

Lindell
TDL Acquisition (Karlsson?)
Lyubushkin
Bichsel

Basically looking for EK to step in as a #4
