You’re absolutely right!!!

We don’t have to do this….. But it’s so much more fun when we do.

Mamas Boy calls home and everybody is “so stoked… it’s off the hook”…… from his video.

My hf prediction of this hockey prospect is that he is going to have a so - so NHL career due to character deficiencies..,,.

Jets will win this trade and it won’t even be close….
And the "Cring Post of the Year" Award goes to....

Sullivan is the most overrated coach in NHL history. It's the same story for him every year since Tocchet left. Now he can't even get this team to the playoffs...LMAO!
Pens management/ownership committment to Sullivan is just bizzarre

What coach gets so much leeway? No playoff series wins since 2018

Has not made the playoffs since 2022 (2 years and likely to continue with his coaching)

He should have been gone in 2021 after the Isles series imo.

Sullivan is the new Mike Babcock without being a crappy/toxic person. Hes living off his past results for a while like Babcock was in 2016-2020 for the leafs

I thought his line was a lot better than some of the Pens other lines, for what it's worth.

Didn't look out of place. They got destroyed. Not sure this is the game to be judging as an end all be all game for him, given they lost by 6 goals, but not a discouraging game for him on an individual basis of how he'll do in the NHL this season.

The fact the original poster had to bring up the Penguins losing 6-0 and pinning it on McG shows how pathetic the argument was to begin with.

Yep, I said it at the time- no reason for excitement. Stoicism always. It was at that moment I knew- he f***ed up.

This is a rare everybody wins trade…
Pens got the ready now guy they needed to help in the final Crosby/Malkin window years and beyond.
Jets got what they’ve needed for years..a proper natural C to fill out the top 6
The fans got to see 2 teams do what’s best for their organizations and direction

Congrats to the Pens for getting their guy and I hope it all works out for you…(but I will always hope he breaks a skate blade and flops around on the ice like a landed fish every time you play in WPG)

Solid 2nd game but I'd rather he go to the AHL if this is going to be his usage. Got to get Kevin Hayes his PP time.

At the moment neither of these players are in a optimal development spot. Yager is a case where the NCAA and CHL agreement would be beneficial. The Pens trying to pin getting better on McGroarty is not a fair position to be putting him in.

For Yager he's too good for junior and most of his higher end teammates are gone now. Playing with and against inferior younger kids is not gonna help his development as much as advancing to the NCAA would. He will be 20 in January. A couple years with less games and more time in the weight room would be ideal.

Winnipeg did amazing in this trade considering the circumstances. To get back a similar to higher end prospect with a little longer development path was some great work from Chevy.

McDavid stat line
  • 6-0 loss
  • 21 shifts, 20 min TOI
  • 0 SOG
  • -2
I guess we can conclude after one game that McGroarty, who "played better" vs the President's Trophy winners than McDavid did vs WPG is going to have a better season than McDavid. That's how math works, right? Winnipeg got robbed! ROBBED

Didn’t even realize he was playing in the game against NYR, checks out because in highlights of him he was always just there and got points somehow. Very overrated prospect
Surprised you seemed to notice anyone else since his line was actually the best of the lot in that 0-6 blowout

McG is not gonna light it up to start. He's on the 3rd line and getting no 2nd unit pp time, so. Would rather he start in the A at this point. He might eventually feel the same way too.

Looks like Rutger wasn't as NHL ready as he wanted to believe. Nobody outside the inner circle knows for sure, but if the kid got advice that he should get traded out of The Peg because they wouldn't guarantee him a roster spot, he unfortunately got some very bad advice. Hope the best for him though as he may be in the right spot for him right now.

Glad he got a couple games up. Knows what to work on and the AHL will help him get there.

Guentzel came up sent down and came up and stayed up with the Penguins. He became a Stanley Cup champion and just signed a 9x8 deal.

Seems like every Jets fan is rushing to declare him not NHL ready after every game he doesn’t score 3 points.

You realize he’s a 20 year old rookie? Relax. If he scores 35 points and doesn’t show any big deficiencies that’s a solid rookie season. He isn’t Michkov. Expectations have to be rational.

Stop the stage five clinging to his every game.

I'm going to have a very strong opinion on this trade 3-4 years from now, or maybe I won't depending on development trajectories of both or either player. But just you wait,,,,,,I knew before eveyone else how this trade was going to go.....

I mean, we’ve been led to believe that the whole reason why Rutger demanded a trade was because he thought he was NHL-ready and wanted immediate ice time, but the Winnipeg brass thought otherwise. Going back down to the minors is a normal thing for rookies, but here the context matters. Rutger getting benched/sent down after two shaky games shows there is a second organization that believes he is not ready, and his extortion for NHL ice time is therefore highly questionable. Jets fans have every right to be calling this out.
