I believe, because Malkins contract is the same every year it's not considered an over 35 contract... Letangs is, because he has a signing bonus in years 3 and 4 but not 1 and 2.... Would have to confirm Malkins though
Edit: Malkin has a bonus in the last year, so it's definitely a 35+ contract
