David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period was speculating that the LA Kings are looking for a top 6 RW which the pens could supply. With the rumor of Brandt Clarke potentially being moved, could we see a Rakell for Clarke + cap dump? Unsure what either side could add, but I could see a deal getting done at some point in the near future.

I think Rakell to LA makes a lot of sense, but less than a zero percent chance they'd move Clarke for him. Even accounting for Rob Blake's idiocy.

Rakell does fill a big need for LA, but between the cap and what they'd offer (not sure if they have the prospects that make sense for both sides), it does seem like it would be a difficult deal to figure out. Pretty much all I could see making sense is LA's 1st, their prospects are either not good enough for the Penguins to want or too good to justify trading for Rakell. Like they're not trading Greentree for Rakell with him demolishing the OHL right now.

I’m still interested in the idea of getting Fiala since Kings fans have soured on him. Change of scenery could be nice, and the Pens will still try to compete with Sid on the roster.

I think logic would dictate that someone else, like Spence or Moverare, is being showcased to be traded and Clarke got the night off
