He got 2 years, because if he turns out well, why not have him for another year?

It's also cheap enough we can bury it in the AHL with no cap penalty.

Mostly because he’s been good in WB/S and the Pens haven’t gotten much depth scoring, and there’s been a revolving door of 12th and 13th forwards all season.

White, Carter, Harkins, Hinostroza, Zohorna won’t / shouldn’t be back.

smart move by the Penguins if he exceeds well in Pittsburgh they get him an extra year on the cheap , maybe Crosby will bring out the best in him

Low risk, high reward, and at the absolute worst a nice depth option making jack shit, I fail to see the downside in this, plus it knocks a useless plug like Harkins out of the lineup.
