I've rarely seen a point man have to dust the puck off on every handle. Always. "Dusty" Butcher lives on in my nightmares.

So this would be a Butcher's cut?

what a name man
His name led to one of my favourite ticker tape reads in hockey

World Juniors 2015 - Butcher blocked a shot late in overtime that proved to be pivotal and helped USA beat Finland, and the ticker after the game read:
"USA Will Butcher Player of the Game"

I feel like butchering the player of the game is a little extreme, myself.

Leafs might be forced to put in a claim for him, or sign Ethan Bear. Three of the D that started the season in the top six, are out with injury now.

Dubas signed a whole bunch of fringe vets to fight it out in camp and hopefully slip through waivers as organizational depth if they didn't make the squad. It was a necessary move with a stripped bare minors system. There are so many vets in Wilkes Barre they can't play them all on a given night. Butcher got hurt and didn't even get the chance to compete. My guess is he will go down, get in game shape, and then have to wait for his shot when injuries occur.
