Good GM's get you cheap talent through the drafts. I suppose you could mostly credit scouts as well since I have heard GM's aren't as involved after the 1rst round. This team doesn't win those two cups without a Murray, Rust and Jake coming up cheap through the system.
Sure, and Murray, Rust, and Jake don't play without key injuries too. Literally the only reason those three got the amount of playing time they did was injuries to the roster and to their credit, they took that opportunity and ran with it.

Meh not really. I get what you are saying but Malkin was the only key player who missed time in 2016 and 2017. Those players got chances when the bottom 6 had injuries and sullivan knew them. It was just a different Sullivan back then. He gave young players a chance in the bottom 6.

He benched Fehr alot in favor of young players. Eric Fehr was producing better than Accari and Nieto combined yet got benched for guys like Rust and Kuhnhackl. Sullivan is just a turd past his expiration.

I mean, if we're talking about the B2B, most of the organizational credit there should be split between JR and Shero, and neither one of those ran a particularly functional organization.

I mean do any GM's? I would argue shero was actually pretty functional outside coach loyalty. If Shero would have fired Bylsma he wouldn't have got canned.

It honestly just shows how Sullivan's tenure has defied all reasoning. Multiple Gm's, multiple playoff failures and a terrible on ice product. I honestly think a big part of his power is his direct relationship to FSG.
