Pens are bottom 3 defensively in the league by every metric. Obviously, if the team wanted to make the playoffs they'd start there. But they don't want to give up assets to get depth dmen/forwards who can defend well so the season is already done. You don't make the playoffs with a bottom 3 defense. Ergo, the tank is actually on. And I think sending Pickering down is a sign that the team is legitimately tanking now.

We've seen it for years now... then everyone says our Goalie sucks. Our defensive coverage is awful for 50% of most games.

We seem lost for years....
