What's the validity behind "Pirri Possibly getting shopped"? Is it just a HF hawks fan speculation or from an actual Dreger/McKenzie source?

Just HF speculation. I'd just as soon hold onto him to the bitter end.

Nope, McKenzie.

Brandon Pirri, demoted by CHI after Regin trade, may be dealt by March 5 deadline. CHI getting calls on him. For right offer, he could move.

This is basically the exact opposite of Quenneville. He takes FOREVER to make changes pretty much everyone else has long since noticed and will ride a loser to the end of the earth.

And yet he was somehow magically able to make all the right decisions (and fixes to his bad decisions) in the playoff run last year, all within the span of 7-game series'.

Great coach. Not going anywhere any time soon and we should all be thankful for that. Take a look around the league at all the teams suffering under much worse coaches.

talented guys that haven't established themselves don't usually return much. thinking a third or another prospect that needs a fresh start.

Exactly. I'd rather just see if he can help us out this season than give up on him and get a 3rd/4th or something like that

Exactly... and play him with Sharp and Hossa, where he doesn't need to constantly look out for his wingers who cheat on the offensive side of the puck. Sharp does it sometimes but generally he is very good at picking his spots. This is not rocket science but Q doesn't seem to get it.

Still Qs fault?

You have no objectivity on the subject, so don't bother.:help:

Anyone can see that that line is a disaster waiting to happen..... so why can't (the great coach) Q? The only way I play 23 and 88 on the same line is if Toews centers the two, and even then it would not be advisable (as Q has better options).

Of course Pirri gets player of the game tonight for his 2G and 1A against Farjestad tonight in the 7-2
win by the AHL All Stars over the Swedish Elite League team....Obviously getting away from the Q system and Let's version of it tight in Rockgord agrees with him.. Playing with Mike Hoffman and Joey White as his wingers in a different style probably fits him better...2 systems..'s does not encourage attacks.up the middle of the ice by our centres to make plays off of. .unless a one rushed receives stretch pass..but he never positions forwards to attack all 3 off a centre rush...but maybe Pirri is better in that type of attack? Whatever...he has not taken the reins in the Q style system when tried on the big club..Maybe he thrives elsewhere in a different system..Has offensive talent but for whatever reason cannot make it in the show under the Q system.

You can't play guys, especially in your top-6, that you have to shelter. It's as simple as that. You can't limit what you can do with your lineup because you're worried that if Pirri (or anyone) plays with player 'x', his shortcomings/flaws will become more prevalent.

I think more likely outcome is the Hawks send Pirri to a team that he steps into lineup right now ,, While getting back a NCAA prospect who has several years of NCAA eligibility left and who can develop for a few years away from Rockford so as not to add to glut

+ Bowman likes NCAA route for guys it seems

Qs fault isn't that Pirri hasn't done much to stick. Saad came in and took the Chance. Pirri now has seen more than enough fair chances and he wasn't able to impress. Simple as that. His Play never forced Q to fit him into the Top 6

And neither had Kruger's and yet he was given chance after chance after chance. Pirri didn't look good in his most recent call up. He was solid defensively, weak in the corners and although he went to the dirty areas to try and create he's just not physically capable of playing that role. Sound familiar?

I don't get this talk of Saad taking his chance and running with it. It was evident extremely early on that Saad was taken way later then he should have been and the Hawks got extremely good value on a guy with questions that ended up being unfounded.

He's a special player, not the norm.

********. Q made several horrible decisions made on the basis of nothing, while his fixes where what would have been if he hadn't ****ed it up in the first place.

You're giving him credit for THAT? You should be on his coaching staff.

Your definition of a "fair chance" must be something different than what I'd consider a fair chance. Q either didn't give him enough time (2-3 game stints since his first demotion), or he rationalized he was good enough (given our options) when in fact he'd shown that he was.

Pirri's not the best player in the world, but he was easily our best #2C option yet our coach somehow thought otherwise. Every public rationalization given for his decisions were proven to be false.

Out of curiosity would you guys be interested in Jets RHD Zach Redmond? Jack of all trades type that is definitely NHL ready but pushed down due to our amazing RHD depth. 25 years old, 1 year remaining @ 715k/2way, but is a UFA due to not enough NHL GP. His value is you can stash him in the minors for a cup run.
