OT: Pirates Talk: Lets Play Ball

Pirates are #11 in pitching fWAR with the starters doing about expected and #31 in batting fWAR with Cruz and Bart as the only above average hitters.

Pitching side, the starters aren't really the problem so I don't see the rush to bring up Chandler even when he is doing well. They seem to think that Holderman and Bednar can get through their yips, but I think Holderman has been looking worse while Bednar has been slightly better but still not up to his previous level. Batting side, I don't know what to say other than I don't think the Pirates have developed a hitter that even reaches their 50% projection in a while. Yorke and Cook are struggling so no near term solutions either.

100%

Starting pitching is okay enough

It feels like we lose most games from the 6th on

As relievers struggle and offense can't keep up with other teams that long... If we've even scored a few by then

Honestly the part of this that sucks more is that you won't be able to trade Jones for bats. They could run with Keller, Skenes and Chandler without any issues but they're not going to be able to sell Jones now.
I think it Keller they trade for bats.
Ashcraft Burrows Harrington Solometo Reed are all potential 26 starters

Of course I am pro-moving Keller, but the SP depth is looking ROUGH with Ashcraft and Harrington having bad years so far. Barco (likely) and Jones gone, no idea where Oviedo is. Falter stepping up is the silver lining. We will see how Burrows fares on Friday
