Stratton was just DFA'd, so this looks basically like a win/win dart to try and find something for the bullpen with someone who has been here before while also offloading Bart's 2.5M contract.

I think with how Endy has played, this makes a lot of sense. I get that there's frustration with Davis, but Endy has more or less emerged as the 1a catcher anyways, and Bart is a butcher on defense and I also thought called some atrocious games as well. He wasn't hitting much at all, so I'll take getting rid of that small contract in advance of the deadline and picking up a dart to throw at the bullpen, especially since we need a RHP who can throw an inning.

I really dont get their kink for Stratton but id assume the real motivation was freeing up Barts salary space. Hopefully for a real reliever
