It sure looked like a spear when I saw it. But it wasn't Backes, it was Pietrangelo.

Sorry, did I get my players mixed up? The Oilers commentator said it was Backes, but maybe he was mistaken and it was Pietrangelo. I dont know the players on the Blues very well. If so, my apologies to Backes and Pietrangelo is a ***** instead.

It was a Blues player. So replace the word "Backes" with "a Blues player" and the thread should make sense to you.

Not like Pouliot was innocent in this either. Unprovoked nut shots are pretty low, but other times you can definitely earn them.

I agree he wasn’t innocent. No hockey player is innocent. But I disagree that you can earn a nut-shot because of cross-checking someone. You earn a punch or cross-check or slash or something. You know, the way a man fights. Little *****es go for the nut-shots.
I do not "recall" this "nut" spearing taking place and in sense will need proper video evidence to come out with any sort of proof showing this event taking place. Until or if that time comes my "clients" Mr. Pietrangelo and Mr. Backes will be pleading the fifth. Thank You.

We all know nut shots hurt, but they never really do any actual damage and it's a real quick and effective way to get someone to stop messing with your teammate. Don't act like a punknown and you won't get treated like one, and Pouliot learned that the hard way.

Usually, I'm all against nutshot, but in this case, it was the proper answer. Pouliot deserved it.

And thanks, yeah it was a well thought out post. Unfortunatly, I didnt have the evidence when I posted and went off the Oilers broadcast who said it was Backes.
If you actually read through the thread to get a clue instead of coming in late to the party, you might have been able to figure that out.
