I do agree with the overall premise here. I’d rather draft like this than the opposite.

But I mean even then out of 22 picks you have only 1 guy who’s played a decent amount in Butcher and it isn’t with us. I don’t expect to hit on 50% of them or anything, but hitting on like 3 would be a massive boost to the org and provide cheap depth.

Just one extra top 6F on an ELC out of 22 would have done absolute wonders for the Avs window the next couple years. Yet, can't even find a legitimate bottom 3F out of all that, which is insane.

I don't even really care about top 6 guys. I want some decent bottom 6 guys that we can plug in for 900k and be effective. Obviously Helm and Cogs are crazy expensive, but saving 500k+ where you can helps out quite a bit.
