Post-Game Talk: Pickard orders McDavid to go warp speed

McNabb being hurt sucks but what part of that was a penalty? the one arm push contact by the red line and sticks getting tangled was sticks getting tangled
You could see his skate lose an edge to begin with, RVs stick had little or nothing to do with him crashing into the boards. No penalty was the right call.

I knew nothing about Walman before Bowman traded for him. I don't even remember hearing his name in trade deadline scuttlebutt.

Credit to Bowman and the pro scouts, though. This guy is a stud. Where would we be with Ekholm out and without having acquired this guy? In fact, there are some Ekholm-esque qualities to his game, IMO.

One call lol

Yup, our -9 penalty differential is totally even despite having two of the most skilled players of our entire generation…

Glad you liked that image I found. I hope it generates as many laughs for you as it did against you ;)

To be fair to him (and he does take a ton of abuse) I don't know he was healthy when the playoffs started, he just will absolutely play through it.
It's good to have some insurance. Imagine having a bonafide #2C when Drai was injured during the Florida series? It's obviously he's injured right now. Hopefully he recovers soon cause we really need him healthy.

If the Oilers can take care of business at home, might give them a much needed break. You are 1000% correct, it's why Nuge's play this playoffs has been so huge.

If we beat the Knights, I can't wait for the media to say that Winnipeg or Dallas are the real deal and that LA and Vegas just weren't that good. Both LA and Vegas were pumped up as juggernauts before

They been doing this for 4 years. Oilers get no credit for beating the Kings.

Even before Dallas, it was depth depth blah blah. Oilers depth outplayed their depth but they still get no credit.

And the captain joins the whine fest. Oilers put up with this shit every game and just go about their business. Man I hate entitled teams and players. These guys would quit hockey if they had to put up with the crap that Connor has to game after game.

he needs shut up. Vegas tied the game when they should have been killing a GI penalty. Zero sympathy.

Is CROTT still whining about Pickard? lol

You almost have to admire his resiliency in sticking to his opinion in the face of overwhelming evidence that it's wrong, though it sure seems like he's actively rooting against the Oilers at this point. I mean I used to say that about certain posters here, but it might actually be true with him.

Like Knob said, it's not often a goalie gives up 4, and still is amazing and wins you the game. For those of you not fortunate enough to see the Oilers in the 80s, this really reminds me of Grant Fuhr. Left to his own devices by a team that thought offence first, but came up with the big save(s) in the biggest moments. To be clear, not comparing him as a whole with a HHFer, but I do see some similarities. Same with McDavid and Drai and their scoring.

Personally, I don't think Drai is hurt, at least not enough to affect his game. He just had one of those games that he has from time to time, unfortunately. He clearly didn't have the juice last night for whatever reason, and didn't have his legs moving. This usually leads to turnovers and bad passes, as he becomes an easier mark to check. McDavid didn't have a great game either. But I expect both of them to be gangbusters on Saturday.

And Vegas can stuff it on the whining about the non-call. Did they forget Pieterangelo only getting one game 2 years ago for nearly chopping Draisaitl's hand off 5 seconds after the play ended? And all the other calls twisted to their good fortune in the past, as a clear Bettman pet.

Not a fan of Arviddson laughing about it on the bench after. I'm an Oilers fan but that reaction by him is disgusting. He spilled somebody head first into boards putting stick in legs and he's laughing on the bench. Oilers got away with a high stick and interference in OT as well but I'll take it because as a team we seldom get beneficial officiating.
Why, looked to me like the slightest of touches. And he would know. Then he lies on the ice like he’s been shot.

If that is a penalty they need to start calling 10 penalty’s a game on the contact mcdavid takes.
