This was so weird, like they were waiting for it to be called back for whatever reason. It did go in and out quick, but when they were still staring, it was quite clear it was just a goal lol.

Hard to believe that this 2024-25 Oiler power play is the same one we saw for so many of the MC-Drai years. Not much intensity. I thought that half of that 5 minute major was simply wasted?

They aren’t moving , puck movement is slow. It’s just urgency imo

Just stationary, being the same PP that the whole league has studied for half a decade. The Drai 1-timer never even becomes an option anymore. Yet somehow we allow Vegas to make that same pass on us with ease.

Badly need some PP adjustments still.

It wasn't a pretty game, but they found a way. Used a break, made the play the needed, the depth showed up, Pickard made huge stops when the team lulled, this is the kind of big win a team like this should be able to put together.

Coming home, clean up their game, get back to it and make Vegas consider what tee times are best.

Just let them chase Arvidsson all over the ice and take their "revenge". The way you manage this is to score on the pp. At this point the win is the big goal. Sending Kane after Eichel would probably end up in either a significant penalty for Kane or a suspension.

You must be joking. Vegas had 5 power plays to 3 in regulation. They would have done the usual no penalties in OT if Roy didn't cross check someone in the face.

Also when Oilers went up 4-2, you know the refs were itching to give Vegas a PP. I’m not saying it wasn’t a penalty but the refs were looking to get Vegas back into it,

Our special teams have been abysmal though.

The officials totally gift wrapped that game for the Oilers despite their terrible play. Especially those two passengers: Leon and Connor...

If the Oilers continue to play the rest of the series the way that they did tonight, vegas is definitely going to come back and advance into the next round.

After all the fist-f***ing the Oilers take from a lot of refs, I for one ain’t even mad we were on the gifted end for once. Missed call on Arvidsson? Absolutely it was and I don’t want to see guys injured. I could see the DoPS giving him a fine or even a 1 game suspension.

They just won two games in a divisional rivals building and now they get to come back home where I expect everybody to going.

The depth guys have been coming up huge, we can’t always rely on 97 & 29 to rack up points every game in the playoffs. It’s nice not always having to rely on those guys to put up 2 points a game just to have a chance. They had an off game but also finished it for a big 2-0 series win.

To be fair Skinner is a backup. It’s management fault they never insulated him better.

But Skinner has been bad all year. Its just the facts. You have to play the goalie who has a better chance of winning and thats been Pickard all year.

Why the media, has put Skinner on this pedestal all year is honestly confusing and frustrating. I don’t know if the organization is telling them what to say or not.

If the team either went and upgraded the goaltending or just played the goalie who was playing better more, the fans would be less harsh to Skinner. People have been frustrated with the way the goaltending has been deployed as much as the players actual performance.
