Source that I don't watch SHL? I'm Swedish, lets hear another one.
alright. but my point is, not all SHL teams are soft. Malmö, Rögle etc are gritty teams.

Also did Blackhawks and Red Wings win the cup with gritty teams? Not really.

Dont get me wrong, i love physical play and i agree Leafs should add a couple of gritty guys.

Having softies like Kamf, Jarnkrok, Engvall etc does not cut it.

Hello all, new member here but long time fan. I as many have been disappointed with the Leafs post season results and the if you call "indifferent play" this season. At the same time the league appears to have gotten rougher this year with considerably more skirmishes. This is something we miss, players who play harder, physical, heart whatever you care to call it.
I hope the Leaf mgmt see this and pursue a forward and D that can add this to the team, perhaps allowing our existing players play more physical know there is help in the lineup.
Names who come to mind who could be available
Tanner Jeannot who would be my top candidate
Max Jones
Max Comtois
Chris Tanev
Jacob Middleton
Connor Murphy

Without more pushback I think were doomed to be a bridesmaid

Anecdotally I've noticed the league move away from big players to small shifty skilled players and this year it seems like every dman is 6'6 and moves like a hungry cheetah and hits like a speeding freight train. The league adjusts every year, as it should.

I like physical hockey, its the game I like to play, even at my age, and the game I gravitate towards to watch. I'd rather watch any two teams play a clean physical technically sound game vs the Leafs and another team play a 60 minute women's no hit, figure skating competition.

I think there is a place for both skill and physicality in the game but its all about balance and team chemistry. I like my bottom 6 guys to be hard, fast, big and defensively sound, able to play vs any other teams top 6 lines. My top 6 would be 6 Patrice Bergeron's :)

Since he's been on the fourth line he's been amazing. Makes a scoring chance happen a couple times a game it seems. Definitely a player who can chip in some offence from an unlikely spot come playoffs.
