So now that the 30 day extension expired what is the next move? Who books events, more importantly who collects on the events booked?

Does the CoG now run Jobing.com?

You realize your statement contradicts itself, right? Not to mention what it projects every other "summary" that's been done to date as.

No it doesn't. Despite the factual errors, it is still one of the better summaries written to date.

Has that been confirmed?

IF it has expired it most likely means that the signing of the lease and purchase are to occur all at once and within days.

The guy sleeps IN PUBLIC and it's WHILE HE IS WORKING.

You are defending him because you agree with him but he should have retired LONG LONG ago.

Sure he should have retired but he still kept getting voted in.

Democracy hard at work. for the record who is older Cactus Phil or Martinez?

Maybe Gramps Jamison will run for office in Glendale after he buys the team. He would fit in well with the group. Seniors discounts at Denny's.;)

Well it hasn't been denied, assuming the expiry date was September 30, 2012. Now that it is October 1, 2012 one can again assume it has expired since no release of approved extension has been made yet.

I doubt the signing and purchase will take place this week at all let alone all at once.

Has the league or COG confirmed the lease expired?

I wouldn't assume anything in this fiasco.;) They weren't sending out press releases in the past when they renewed. Unless reporters pester them we may not know.

If it has expired it is an attempt by the league to pressure the COG into signing off on the lease.

the city would be well advised not to sign anything until after the team has been purchased.

only the city has actually done anything these past three years. it has opened up its wallet. and it has bent over backwards trying to please these millionaire welfare bums.

no potential owner has done anything. (with the exception of hulzi's deposit which he strangely transferred to his second choice in st. louis? real serious about phoenix, eh hulzi? ). indeed, GJ flatly refused to answer a very simple, reasonable question about the identity of his investors.

the nhl has done nothing, and in fact has done less than nothing, in that it now appears it sub-contracted out arena management duties to AEG, at what we can all safely assume was considerably less than $25M.

until the league and a buyer finalize the sale of the team, the city should not do anything. and then it should require everyone to open up all of their books and THEN decide whether it wants to sign.

remember ... any reasonable accounting of the money clearly indicates that the city is better off without the team than with it. so make the other players make their moves first. the city has nothing to lose.

Well, since they only have 6 non-NHL events booked until next summer, I don't suppose that it would take much effort from an arena manager to handle this. TL Hocking could probably do this in his spare time.

That's a terribly weak assumption.

...ya, some factual errors & omissions but overall well written. Particularly enjoyed the analogies;

".... the Taming of the Shrew"
"... bleeding out like Tim Roth in Reservoir Dogs"
"... feeding the otherwise dormant concrete Circus animal in its backyard"

and so on....

I thought that the disclaimer at the bottom of the article was interesting...

Note: As of press time, the Goldwater Institute has no legal activity pending to halt the Glendale/Jamison deal, which appeared on track to be ratified before the NHL’s 2012-2013 opening day on October 11.

You forgot the :sarcasm: :)

Assumptions are what fuels us all here, until someone finally decides to make a formal press release.

FWIW we didn't hear about the previous extension from the NHL we heard it first from another reporter. And even then it was an article that no one could believe.

The last 30 day extension was done before it's expiration going into September. It was done in an Executive Session on August 27th. It was listed on the agenda then:

(Under - 2. Legal Matters - Property & Contracts)

http://www.glendaleaz.com/clerk/agendasandminutes/Workshops/Agendas/082712-SW00.pdf

And it's listed again on tomorrow's agenda, seperate from Skeete's modification proposal

(Under Executive Session - 2. Legal Matters - Property & Contracts)

http://www.glendaleaz.com/Clerk/agendasandminutes/Workshops/Agendas/100212-W00ForI-Pad.pdf

So an extension may, or may not, be announced tomorrow. We'll see I guess.

I think there would be a swell of support for the Coyotes to relocate to Phoenix but to remain in Glendale, not so much.;)

Not scientific enough. 10 random people isn't enough. And it depends which 10 you ask.

10 players on the Coyotes vs 10 people on HFB vs 10 people in Glendale vs 10 people in Phoenix vs 10 people from Toronto vs 10 NHL owners..... Could all get you different results.

OK, how about a 1000 random hockey fans....how's that and would they like them to stay in Glendale? Or possibly move anywhere else, Seattle, Quebec...ect......Is that better?

Survey the NHLPA ,see what they have to say about a team in Glendale!
