Here's the thing with the pk. We lose Dubinsky, Anisimov, Fedetenko and Prust. All four of those guys could provide enough offense to take a regular shift. We replace them with Halpern, Powe, Pyatt and Asham. All of them more limited as offensive players. Two of them don't kill penalties--Pyatt and Asham and the other two Halpern and Powe--can't score at all--one assist between them.

Somebody else says Boyle couldn't play on most teams--and then mentions he's not good enough to play for the Bruins and Blackhawks. That's debatable on its own but why just mention the two cup finalists?--neither of which are 'most teams'. The fact is Boyle could play for most teams--that there is nothing really all that special about your average or even very good 4th liner--whatever the team. Another fact is Boyle tends to play his best in the playoffs--along with his size, his above average faceoff ability and his usually pretty good pk'ing that makes him a valuable player.

A lot of the reason IMO the Rangers underachieved this past year goes back to the Nash trade--and I'm not even arguing that we shouldn't have done it but it cut a decent % of the heart out of the team--not allowing us to fill the holes with better options.
