The comments in here are laughable, Leafs have done nothing but have roster turnover year after year with zero success, maybe it’s time to try and build a team without the revolving door. Myers is fine at what he is, just like Benny. If a fair deal is possible I got no problems with the team resigning him…….

Revolving doors are a result of poor management and overpays. Until both cease to be an issue we will always be in this situation.

I sort of agree with you. But there's no reason to be overly loyal to a #7 defenceman. Having a revolving door on replaceable players isn't something I've ever thought was a problem. Lots of teams make changes to depth players every season. I don't think the Leafs have been worse for this than any other team.

If a fair deal is possible, I agree with you, go and re-sign him. But I'm also OK to push Meyers through that revolving door is there's another option that improves the roster.

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today the hockey club has signed defenceman Philippe Myers to a two-year contract extension. The contract carries an average annual value of $850,000.

Perfect contract. Gives the Leafs a capable depth defenseman with some interesting "potential" to keep improving into probably a serviceable RHD. If he regresses or stagnates, he can easily be waived.

Count me in on the side of this is a good signing for a depth #6-7 who is big, has length, and is physical. He has trouble moving the puck quickly but that can be overlooked given his other attributes.

No way to complain about this. He's paid appropriately for the role he fills. And I'm betting he wouldn't be a disaster if he had to take on more minutes for a stretch.
