Why?

He's just a guy, you can get those for next to nothing in free agency
That's how we got Meyers this off-season

I'm not against resigning guys but I'm not sure why you'd be resigning a #6D now

Yeah these are the guys you sign on July 5th. Not even July 1st and certainly not mid season extensions.

Sign Knies now that he has hit a bit of a slump. 6x5 million per. Will look like a steal in a year or two.

Seriously why do we care if we sign Myers…hasn’t been able to supplant Timmins and that’s a pretty low bar.
Maybe the slump is the real Knies.
Can he drive a line
Or do we need to see more?

3rd Planet From Sun.
As some other have said why?
He is a decent #7. But is that really a guy you want to worry about now?
Like if he wants to sign near league min go for it but other than that why bother.

Knies makes sense.

Not sure about Myers. How much? Money matters

League minimum seems right for someone who isn't consistently in the league, right? That makes sense to me. If he's willing to take league minimum then yes, extend him for another year or two. You can do worse for a #7 defender.

And Myers has to know that he could end up in a worse situation with a different team that doesn't play him any NHL time, like his last two seasons in Tampa where he only got 5 and 11 games.

Toronto can pay big bucks even when he's in the AHL. So that's gotta be a factor for someone who plays more AHL than NHL.

Some thought Aulie was the second coming of Pronger for 1/2 year.
Who? Are these the same people that call Easton Cowan "the new Darcy Tucker"? Make note of anyone saying things like this, and then put them on ignore. No one with any sense at all (or 20/20 vision) would call Aulie "the 2nd coming of Pronger".
