That’s a pretty rough list. None of them are getting in next year & frankly Hamels might be the only one that has an argument at any point.

Next year will be a great opportunity for guys late in their ballot cycle to pick up votes, they’re gonna look like Babe Ruth against that list. Even as a Big Hall guy, you have Hamels and maybe Braun?

I don’t know with Braun. Not necessarily sure his resume would be strong enough even without the PED’s.

It’s really short, yeah. It’s also not just that he got popped for PEDs either. He then publicly went after the poor guy who collected his sample only to later admit he was a Biogenesis client. I’m not sure anyone handled those things worse.

Hamels is considered a maybe too. Even among the Big Hall people. It all depends on how you want to handle modern SPs. He’s below the traditional line, but the game has changed. If you’re a Felix or Buehrle voter or you would vote for Johan Santana, you should probably vote for Hamels. If not, I understand both ways.

Cole Hamels is my namesake on this website and I don’t see him anywhere near the HOF. I’ll be shocked if he gets in.

If Hamels doesn’t get in, they’re going to induct 0 Pitchers between Sabathia and Greinke/Verlander/Kershaw/Scherzer with no one else on the horizon afterward except Cole if he ages well. It’s an interesting litmus test.

I'm a "yes, eventually" on all four of them. I'd probably have them Hamels (bias), then Buehrle, Felix, then Santana.

I had forgotten about Braun using PEDs, Scratch that, then.

MLB.com released their top-10 righty pitcher prospect list and Andrew Painter is #3. Roki Sasaki is #1 btw.

Also because Roki Sasaki will appear on at least 2 of 3 top-100 prospects lists (MLB.com, Baseball America, ESPN) the Dodgers can get an extra draft pick at the end of the first round if he wins Rookie Of the Year. If he finished top-3 in Cy Young voting before arbitration that would also earn an extra draft pick.

The most interesting litmus for me is DeGrom, when that time comes. It'll define this era of arm injuries and HOF votes
