My guess is they didn’t want to go to the bullpen that early. Hoping Nola could work his way out of it. But that seemed pretty wishful even going into it based on Nola’s previous innings.

Thompson won’t but Castellanos should be dropped in the lineup too. He’s been horrendous since the all-star break.

I haven’t fact checked this but as crazy as it sounds he’s likely been worse than Turner during that time.

Castellanos just strikes me as a stubborn mule. As bad as he was last year, he made zero swing adjustments in-season. Guys like Stott and Marsh revamped their swings with the no stride, etc. Castellanos was always a bubble waiting to be burst this season with his power numbers. A man can only slap so many ground ball doubles down the line.
