I don’t get why Harper can’t play LF if he can play 1B. Unless they would rather have a platoon out there or just want to see him do it.

More throwing in the OF. A 1B may need to make one competitive throw a game. He may be cleared, but stress on the elbow is still real.

I do think part of the reason he's playing 1B is because he wanted to try it out. If he didn't suggest it, I don't think it would happen. Schwarber and Castellanos have more experience in the infield and they never even considered moving them.
