Other Sports: Philadelphia Phillies 2025 (Spring Training Forward): Deferring to 2036

RoboUmps are desperately needed. These fat 60 year slob umpires ruin the game.

Oh look, another missed called strike 3. This one with 1 out in extra innings with a man on 3rd. Awesome

And Bohm bails the ump out

I get you don’t want right on left, but Ozuna has an OBP over .500 and has been in everything. Why are they pitching to him there?

So it seems abundantly clear we need at least one bullpen arm, a CFer, and 3B. Bullpen arm shouldn't be difficult to find. CF maybe Crawford later in the season? Any other trade options? I am a huge Luis Robert fan and think a change of scenery would be good for him (or at least I am telling myself that). With his injury history and poor start I wonder if the Sox would let him go for cheap? Sounds like they were hopeful he would come out firing and then they'd trade him for a big return but right now it isn't looking good. I wouldn't break the bank on him but I'd definitely see what they are looking for.

3B is a lot trickier. Are there any names internally or externally? Aidan Miller doesn't do 3B (does he?) and probably isn't ready for another 1-2 years I imagine?

They have a good AAA pen. Those guys are in AAA for a reason of course, but someone could pop. They don't really have the flexibility to make in season moves because no one you'd want to send down outside of maybe Banks, has options. Bullpen pieces are easier to acquire than anything else.

Hernandez looked good last night and Romano looked like he might not be completely cooked. We'll see if he can do it for more than one appearance at a time. Ross was put in a tough spot. He's a multi-inning middle reliever, possible spot start guy, not a late inning guy. You still have to feel good about Strahm, Kerkering, and Alvarado if he can stay healthy (big workload so far) in the back.

Good CFs don't become available really. They'll probably just go back to a platoon at some point. I doubt Crawford moves the needle much this year given what was discussed and his defense gets mixed reviews so even expecting 2023 Rojas is a bit optimistic.

Miller has played 3B but he's two years removed from high school and hitting .100 at AA. Was never really a serious option this year unless he went and had one of those classic Reading runs. Still might, but it's an aggressive assignment and showing that he's not close at the moment. Gotta ride it out with Bohm as frustrating as he is.

I'm a Ruiz believer too. I think there's something above average there. I haven't looked at the microstats

Ace of the 2020s Andres Pallante mowing them down. Can they get it done on the 2nd and 3rd time through?

I know full well that this is what they've built, and they hit dingers. But it really is f***ing frustrating when everyone goes bust at the same time in the boom or bust lineup
