i wish McIlrath would be called, heck call up Haley as well. Rangers can use a spark.. this will be an emotional game.. i hope this team is ready to get hit.. this team is weak :sarcasm:

Couldn't agree more. It's embarrassing to watch when physical teams beat up our players.

Pouliot and Nash had to answer the bell against the Jackets. The first one is a non-fighter, and our top star shouldn't fight either.

with Kreider i expect Boyle to be on the PP.. Kreider is the only one with size that can cause problems for the goalie.. just dont let Boyle touch the puck. tell him to screen the goalie

They fought Derek McKenzie and Matt Calvert...

I've seen calls for Carcillo, Falk, McIlrath and Haley now.

If someone suggests Beach, I WILL CUT A *****.

I have a crazy idea. Let's try winning by playing better hockey than the opponent instead of punching them in the head.

umm, Pouliot.

i know he does but you need more than one option... Nash doesnt.. everyone else the goalie can see over  id use Boyle. just plant him in front while the other 4 move the puck.. rangers are not gonna put carcillo or dorsett on the pp :amazed: at least Boyle can be a distraction towards their goalie

Nash has been playing in front of the net on the PP since St. Louis came.

You don't have to big to be effective in front of the goalie. Look at Ryan Callahan FFS.

Chris Drury before him too.

Rangers fans really would rather win fights than see us win games. I sometimes suspect that the only reason Rangers fans like hockey is for the fights. It's getting old.

It's perfectly fine if they like fighting.

I just don't understand why they don't put their time towards MMA, wrestling, boxing, etc instead of a sport with so much creativity and beauty to it.

Exactly what I mean. It's like Rangers fans want to show how tough they are. I remember reading on facebook what a travesty it was that we traded Rupp. My best friend's brother was one of these and he was also complaining about us signing Zucc the 2nd time.

Edit: Did we give him a new contract or did he just leave the NHL and come back on the old contract?

I think he came back on the old contract...I think that makes sense since he is up for a new contract this summer.

I realized that I can't talk about hockey with anyone outside these boards. Most of them are just like that; they either only love the fighting or their understanding is so shallow. Like one of my co workers at the beginning of last year was like "Nash isn't playing well, he needs to score more goals!!!!!". And I'm like...he's creating chances, has plenty of assists and is over a PPG.

Fights are not there just for fun, sometimes it's necessary against physical teams to calm things down. Heavyweights act as police, reducing dirty hits and so on.

It also creates energy for the entire team, while the opposite happens if they look like a bunch of weak sissys out there.

Then why is Boston the most often cheap shotted team? Their hands down the toughest team in the league and have S. Thornton as a heavy weight. Yet they are consistently the recipient of cheap shots, a fair amount leading to long term injuries (Savard, Horton).

It's simply not true that heavy weights act as police. Not ever since the instigator rule has come into play. That era of hockey is GONE.

You need to be MENTALLY tough as a team.

Edit: Someone had the statistics around here saying Boston suffers the most cheap shots. I think -31- brought it up a few months ago.

That's just completely overblown. How many cheap shots have we gotten this year. I'll start you off with Nash. Go on.

Flyers are red hot and playing playoff hockey lately whilst we've won 4 in a row without really playing great..

Something's got to give in this one..

We need our key players to show up tonight..

Well I disagree, except for the bolded part.

When it comes to Boston, they are all heavyweights, simply too tough. One is enough ;)
