How is the Eagles defense looking injury wise? I remember a couple key guys getting hurt a few weeks ago. Full strength, to early to tell or next man up..... cheers

Avonte Maddox, I believe, is the only one that's out at this point. I believe Josh Sweat is going to play next week which his injury a couple weeks back was pretty scary so that's good to see.

So looks like they're pretty close to full strength.

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear. Maddox is a big loss though, right? Like a rover/nickel guy that covers between the linebackers and secondary? Seemed like he was an impact player when I got a chance to watch.

Obviously I’m not locked in as others and never played fantasy to know the ins and outs but this team has me excited.

I think the Maddox injury impacted them more when CGJ was also out. With the way they play D, they do need 3 serviceable cover guys. Since Blankenship was able to come in and be a serviceable replacement for CGJ, this would allow CGJ to help be the 3rd cover guy when needed.

This was most notable in the Dallas game where they moved Lamb to the slot to avoid Slay and Bradberry. He feasted the rest of the game, but the Eagles also didn't make any adjustments to stop it. I think that was partially because they didn't have the personnel to do so and they didn't want to put anything on film for a potential playoff matchup. While it would probably be best to put CGJ back where he was and have Maddox being the 3rd cover guy, I don't think it is debilitating to have Blankenship take CGJ's spot and CGJ take Maddox's.

Thanks for the response. Definitely gives me a clearer picture of what to look for while watching. Shall see what happens next week!

I was just curious how you felt about the starters playing and him winding up with a back injury.
Oh, well now with that context the question makes perfect sense and i'm an idiot for not understanding it the first time.

It was beyond stupid to have the top guys in there at that juncture or even really at all. I wouldn't have had a massive problem playing them if the Bengals/Ravens game was happening at the same time as i'd rather play the Jags over the Bengals ten out of ten times but... by the time the Chargers kicked off the Bengals had already won which locked the Chargers into the #5 seed. I understand that this statement is an obvious one.

I can't say that the whole thing has me terribly bent out of shape though as I truly am just a Justin Herbert fan so it's not going to keep me awake at night in anger. I know that it's hard to separate that and being a fan of the Chargers as a whole but at the end of the day Herbert is still playing on Saturday albeit with less weapons than he should have.

Now with all of that said, what happened to Williams could have easily happened to Herbert and that's not cool.

I also do like Brandon Staley as a coach but this is probably what will get him fired and placate the fanbase who has been calling for his head for a while now. So for the Eagles sake, Gannon out and Staley in? Sign me up.

It makes me convinced Sean Payton is getting the job.
You think Spanos is going to do that?

I thought I heard a dude on the radio here (who has always had a reliable finger on the inside pulse of the Ravens) say that the rupture between team and player has probably already happened and the two are finished with each other

I am somewhere between 25-64% convinced this could be fact.
Per searches, grade 2 PCL strain can take 2 to 6 or 8 weeks, grade 3 can take a few months. I do agree that the politics of the situation does make staying out convenient for him. He is at week 6, and hasn't practiced.

What I can't quite decide is whether Stroud staying would make 1OA worth more or less in a trade. For better or worse, QB opinions will shape what's available at 10.

If the Bears move Fields, that's a big boon for the Eagles' prospective choices. I understand both schools of thought here. Even as someone who had Fields higher coming out than any QB in this class, the Bears' timeline doesn't fit very well. They stink everywhere.

Isn't Levis sort of All Tools, No Toolbox?
