Is there anything to give us hope that this won't be a tyre fire?

I think Ray Didinger tried to inspire hope this morning by essentially saying "The Buccaneers are so bad - all you have to do is just barely do anything and the Bucs will make their own mistakes"

Remember when this team was a contender? bahaha.

The offense -- chock-full of Pro Bowl-level talent -- has underperformed and shown its frustration. Sideline spats have carried over to tension in the locker room, where team sources say disagreements have occasionally devolved into finger-pointing. Demoting defensive coordinator Sean Desai and elevating Matt Patricia to defensive playcaller on Dec. 17 only made matters worse for a unit that eventually finished 30th in points allowed.

Finger pointing. Yep.

On top of those struggles, Jalen Hurts' desired direction for the offense has not materialized, which has been a source of disappointment for the franchise quarterback, according to a source with direct knowledge of Hurts' thinking. A disconnect between the visions of Sirianni, Hurts and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson has affected the offense's ability to land on an identity, the source said.

Oh. Oh dear. This paragraph is the first time I've been more than 50-50 Sirianni is gone with a loss tonight.

Oh hey, looks like ol' HC did it again by saying that at points this year i'm not convinced that Sirianni isn't calling plays.

It's also that line of thinking that I mentioned the other day that it's plausible that Johnson just has no leeway of changing anything from Sirianni's offense.

WIP should be fun though if he's hired as the HC.

Ol' Howie has put out his game plan of who he is going to throw under the bus early.

When will Howie be on the hot seat? I know we're ahead of the curve but I don't think the average fan will ever be critical of him unless he goes 3-14.

Belichick is my only hope.

Howie has learned the game of giving the fans what they want with the drafts and what not in order to secure his job security. In the past he wouldn't do that and they foamed at the mouth. Now? He throws them a crumb here and there and they eat it up.

I assume one of two things will happen this offseason barring some kind of miraculous 180 degree turnaround and the Eagles turn back into a contender. Either Sirianni is out or Hurts is out. Doesn't seem like it's working between the two of them. Question is who goes? I like Hurts so my vote is for Sirianni.

Meh. the team looked worse after they won the SB.

Part of the problem is Howie is good at adding veterans to make a run, but they also have a bad habit of falling off the cliff afterwards (Bradberry, Reddick, Lane has been hobbled and below his usual standard, etc.). This team got old quickly and the young players haven't picked up the slack yet (today would be a good start).

At some point you have to admit to yourself the team needs to be torn apart, dump the veteran contracts and go young and athletic (with a few keystone vets). GB did a wonderful job. Howie has been stockpiling picks and young players, has to hit on more middle rd picks and UDFAs - but if Ringo, McCollum, VanSumeren, Williams, Davis, Carter, Smith step up next year all will be forgiven - with a new DC who doesn't play a passive system.

Now if he could just find a WR3 and TE2 who can make plays . . .
