Streaming is going the opposite way at this point. It’s not even really that cheap anymore compared to cable.

Capitalism ends up costing people more money than having shared expenses. In the old cable TV pretty much everyone got stuff they didn't want and had to pay for in their plan, so the stuff you wanted cost less because you also had other people supplementing it in their plans.

Now it's just splicing everything off individually and the old cable cash cow is drying up so the individual things are charging more and more money.
