Foles has had a charmed career, late 3rd rd pick are usually marginal #2/#3 QBs for a few years, he got chances to start, a SB ring and great highlights, a big contract that set him up for life, and he'll probably walk away from the game with minimal physical damage.

It's kinda like the players who end up on a dozen teams and always seemed to get moved at the TDL, if someone is always wanting to add you for a stretch run, you're good enough to play but not good enough to keep.

100% agree, especially since he fell to them without having to move up. Drafting Fields this year and then adding three 1st round picks to the team (or using them as assets in a trade) to improve the roster should have been the play.
I would have been fully on board with this plan, but I don't think what we are doing is a bad move either. I think this way gives them more options (not necessarily better, but more).

In the Fields scenario you have a potential stud QB with holes to fill around him. Easier to fill non-QB holes every day of the week, that means Fields has to be the guy, which ge very well may be.

But with this scenario you wind up with a potential stud like Smith, and you have a guy in Hurts who could be stud (less likely than fields, but still possible) and if he isn't, you are likely going to have a very high draft pick next year (plus one, maybe two additional first rounders) to get other guys.

Honestly, both are very good options. If they went Fields, I'd have been psyched. They didn't, and I still psyched on Smith with the potential for Hurts (or Minshew II :naughty:) to be the guy at QB, or some other blue chipper next year.

Howie should have gotten an anti-vaxx clause in the trade.

I'm at the point where I'm angry I have to grudgingly admit the first X weeks of 2017 were fun. He hits EVERY angle of unlikability.

Has there been a more irrelevant relevant player in sports than Nick Foles? I don't have an answer- I haven't thought about it.

Jeff Hostetler. Same injury angle as Foles to winning a Super Bowl minus randomly having the best 2 games of his life at the perfect time or even being particularly good in college. At least Dilfer was good at Fresno.

Can we get a GoFundMe for this? I'll livestream it.
