Other Sports: Philadelphia Eagles (NFL): THIS IS BRAZIL - Super Bowl LIX Champions

I would call Sweat possible but unlikely.

Milton Williams I just cannot see. I kept saying I thought they'd try to keep him over everyone else, but he's going to make too much money now. He doesn't even turn 26 until April. Someone is backing up a second armored car.

The DL won this game. Make no mistake about it. The back end of the defense played well too, but everything hinged on getting pressure with 4. This was their best game of the year by far.

I thought Williams was gone before this game - and now I'm CERTAIN he's gone. It's a shame since he's so wonderful, but I think this is a moment where Howie trusts that he can draft the replacement.

Sweat, I don't think he's back either unless he somehow forgets he was phenomenal in this game and signs a reasonable deal for his age (which ain't happening).

I think they prioritize Baun, which is smart, but I don't even know at this point. I just know I trust Howie.

That's the penalty of being a winner, boys. Everyone wants a piece of your success like a bunch of vultures.

And on top of this, I would also say that I think it’s very much a real possibility that Howie & Co. believe that Ojomo has another 2 or so levels that can be reached, and can replace that production

Honestly, I wouldn't say he can't. He's shown flashes this year, and if there's one thing this team does better than any other, it's turn credible linemen (on both sides) into the absolute goddamned best version of themselves.

I expect high picks on the OL and DL this year, too (I know, wild man going out on a limb there), so some combination of Ojomo, Davis, and a pick are likely to pick up Milt's minutes.

Unless its a tackle...I'm hoping we avoid OL with day 1 and 2 picks to plug other talent holes. Let stoutland work that magic and hope steen/keegan can fill in at guard.

There are good IOL guys to be had in the 4th and beyond.

That's exactly what I mean. I think they're going to give serious consideration to trying to find Lane's successor while there's still time for him to learn from Lane, like they did with Jurgens and Kelce.

“I heard a quote that Dean Smith many years ago, if you guys remember, he went to a bunch of Final Fours before he finally won one, and they asked him the next day, ‘How does it feel you got a monkey [off your back]?’ He said, ‘I’m the same coach today as I was yesterday. We just got a championship.’ “So I don’t look at it as it validates me or anything. It’s just a great accomplishment.”

What a day. I truly didn't plan on going but the Eagles came through with what I considered completely reasonable priced tickets. My NFC Championship game tickets sold for more than what we paid so impossible to pass that up.

Shout out to Jojo for some info on some great spots to hit up for someone who has never been to NOLA before. Definitely helped us navigate our crew a little easier.

Absolute boots to ass beatdown on both sides of the ball that was enjoyable for every single second. Something we'll never see again. It was a party the whole way through.

I won't pretend that I know all the details from watching in the stadium so i'll be watching the broadcast later today or tomorrow to get a better feel for it all but anyone with eyes could see how the defensive line just absolutely mauled them and there was nothing the Chiefs could do. The offense was a buzz saw. They said "Hurts beat me" and he tore them apart.

I was wrong about Jalen Hurts, I was wrong about Howie Roseman. It's great to be wrong when it's in such a meaningful way. As always, I don't know shit about f***.

The group that i'm most proud of though for their performance was the fans at the stadium. I don't know if it came through on the broadcast but it was an absolutely masterclass by the fanbase. They brought it the entire game from the introductions which was absolutely amazing that we couldn't even hear Jon Hamm talk. The Chiefs were being boo'd out of the stadium and then the Eagles were introduced and goose bumps. That continued the whole damn game as we celebrated the whole damn game. Show a Chiefs can on the scoreboard? Boo. Show an Eagles fan? Cheers like the team just scored a touchdown. We deserve this. All of us. Past and present.

Which brings me to the moment that hit me the most. As many of you know my dad faced a few medical obstacles in the past which precluded him from traveling with my brother, my wife, and I to Minneapolis for LII despite us having a ticket for him. In what I considered a gross waste of money, my brother wound up not doing anything with my Dad's ticket and the seat stayed empty. The Eagles won. My dad would go on to pass away less then a year from that point. Yesterday? I went with two of my brothers and my brother-in-law. With about 8 minutes left in the second quarter, it hit me that the seat next to me was empty. It wasn't our seat. Within a minute, Cooper DeJean picked off that pass and brought it to the house. My dad was with us and all the nerves for the game disappeared. No one showed up in that seat the rest of the game.

This truly is for everyone in the fandom. For the ones that you watched your first game with, for the ones that you watched your last games with, for the ones that you introduced the Eagles to, and for the ones that are yet to come. Enjoy every second.

Go Birds.

For the Kickoff game in 2025, who do you want to see?
Dallas, Wash, NYG, Denver, Las Vegas, Detroit, Chicago LA Rams are your visiting teams.

NFL typical picks a good not great matchup. This past year KC got Bal, but their home slate was stacked, with Houston, Cincy, Bal, NO, and TB at home (outside of their division). I had figured, they would have opened up vs the young upstart Houston team, ala what they did with Detroit to open up 23 season.

Early odds, likely the Bears or Rams.

Rams or Det seems like the choice the NFL will make. Bears are not a high enough profile opponent yet IMO

WSH too as an NFCCG rematch.

I'd be surprised if it's not Washington. Division rival, NFCCG rematch, probably going to be a great game, there's so much to recommend it. Rams would be my #2 choice, then Detroit.

I'd consider Dallas, but Philly/Dallas will pop a rating no matter what, they don't need the extra boost of it being the celebration game.

I thought the Eagles were cooked after the 2020 season and it would take some time to rebuild..

Yesterday makes the end of last season all the more perplexing. Sure, they didn’t dominate with the eye test but they were still 10-1 at one point and that season was bookended by 2 trips to the Super Bowl, winning one of them

NFL doesn’t need the best matchup so o don’t see Det. Ratings will be good regardless of opposition but they won’t give Phi a weaker one. I don’t see LV or Denver. Chicago would need to upgrade their OL for the nfl to be confident of putting them on the opening game vs a great Phi DL.

Rams are a safe choice. Plus it’s also the networks and the nfl wanting to have good matchups each week.

Can always go divisional opponent but the nfl gets good ratings from the nfc east matchups. So can save them for during the season.

Reinforces the important of competent Coordinators. Johnson and Desai were disasters.
