What's the difference though if the eventual MVP wasn't a defensive player

The voting has split off into QBs winning MVP and another guy winning OPOY. There's no need to make this any more complicated or for some reason keep saying that QBs need their own award. They have one. Some people just don't like what it is.

The voter guidance for MVP is specific to value to team. The OPOY guidance is not. It has functionally sorted itself out the right way.

OL and TEs can't win OPOY. DBs almost never win DPOY, although one did this year. Football is not conducive to awards like this. Look how difficult it is to sort out All Pro teams and those guys at least fit into some of the same generic buckets.

I made this joke in my head driving home this morning and concluded MLB MVPs don't always win their silver slugger

This, but the one I use is Relief Pitchers shouldn't sniff a Cy Young. The position can never provide the same value. That doesn't in any way diminish how well someone pitches or Saquon runs.

Bryce Harper didn't make the All Star team when he last won MVP.

Eagles by a million because I woke up with the worst sore throat I've had since the last time I had covid and a a runny nose, which means I likely will watch alone on a laggy stream and will miss any type of parade. These are the sacrifices we make
I have YouTube TV and could use a big spoon.

Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance. Just like Saquon is gonna dance all over the graves of Lamar, Josh, and Patrick in a couple days. Your answer might be right, but I don't have to like it. Might as well call it the Most Expensive Player award.

Whatevs. Those regular season grapes are probably sour anyway. Superbowl MVP though? Oh, those are going to be sweeter than honey. He is not going to be denied.

In seriousness, Quinyon was 2nd and Cooper 4th for DROY??!!! In one draft??? And both DBs??? Are we in bizarro world?

I was doing relatively fine until I got to the club, realized I was DJ'ing, which meant it was Friday and it was Super Bowl weekend. Now I'm an anxious mess
