I didn't hate this pick like everyone else. *shrug*

October '23:

Penix is incredibly fun. I think his best fit is something like Day 2 to Atlanta where he's asked to make occasional plays. I just don't know that he has the down to down accuracy to be a meaningful NFL QB. Of course, neither did someone else...and if someone else says he seamlessly replaced Baker and Kyler again, I will cry.

Draft day:

Look, I don’t buy Penix as a top 10 pick. But I will say this. If you look at the non-1st round QBs that hit, the biggest common denominator is guys that will just throw balls up and let their receivers make plays. Atlanta has RECEIVERS.

They really should have moved back if they wanted to do this. Different discussion.

The Falcons are at least interesting again.

I like Penix. Its the signing that I don't get. A QB was always going to be available for them in the draft, so once they committed to Cousins it seemed like they were gonna try to make a run at contention now and snag something else to help immediately.

I do not get why they signed Cousins to that contract to then draft a QB who has extensive experience and is old enough to kinda need to start soon.

Flyers level of forward planning

Woody Johnson "pushing back" against signing a Guard because of his Madden Awareness Rating almost killed me. And people still assume competence.

Appreciate Jeffrey.
Lurie's one of the best owners in the NFL.

For one thing, he's not enamored with shiny new toys, he'd rather spend on making Stoutland the highest paid assistant coach in the NFL than make a big splash in FA.

The best thing that happened to Howie was being humbled, hubris is what gets people in trouble in sports, finance and politics.

Agreed, look no further than the hockey team residing across the parking lot.
