I think it's Hextall doing a guy a favor who has pretty much put his time in and done what the organization has asked of him. He's improved his skating, but the Flyers are adding at least two players to the top 9 that weren't on the roster last year. There's just no room.

I totally agree with you, I was a big believer in Cousins game. Don't understand why Hextall gave up on a younger player like Cousins when they keep trash around like Bellemare, now that gives me a reason to dislike Bellemare even more, definitely not happy about losing one of the best churpers and penalty minute drawers in the league.

Yeah, he's a hell of a lot better of a player than Bellemare.


I have no clue why in the world Madsen is included. I don't know if he would've even signed with the Flyers, but if he repeated his year that he just had, his rights should've been worth more than a 5th by himself.

Lol, Nick Cousins is barely an NHL level player. It's a nothing trade for both sides.

Won't be saying that when he breaks out with the yotes. Look at what Cousins has done at each level he's played at. Wasn't given the same chance as others that's all I'm saying. Know he wasn't going to be a 1st line player but has the upside to be a decent 2C or 3C as the ceiling, and wouldn't surprise me if he reaches 40 points within the next 2-3 years.

He's a year away from being a college UFA and obviously behind Stolarz and Lyon (already in AHL) and clearly behind Hart and Sandstrom in terms of potential. Madsen could still be a useful NHL goalie, but the Flyers have no room for him.
