Millman is toiling in the ECHL b/c he sucked when they gave him a shot in the AHL. And he's not blowing up the ECHL either. It's like they sign these guys without thinking of how that might impact the development of players. Now maybe he just became a non-prospect overnight, but Millman looked like an actual good mid-round pick, got boned by Covid and has been toiling in the ECHL because they have vets taking up minutes in the AHL. He's up now. We'll see if he plays.
Good teams have good prospects on their AHL teams b/c they have depth at the NHL level and don't have to rush prospects - Pens are a good example, almost all their prospects spend a year or more in the AHL. So when they come up, they're NHL ready, not learning on the job.
