This team needs contributions from Laf or Kakko or Krav. Just one of them at least. is that too much to ask for?
Kakko looked good last night. Mika was not great & Kreider bad.

Laf should not be on the RW. I'd like to see him on LW w Mika & KK.

Kravstov was ok. He did a good job on the Fox goal driving the net and pulling the D out of the way.

Athletic said it was an early contender for game of the year.

Good game, but I wouldnt go that far.

Was happy with the point. With Chytil out, the bottom 6 was just trying to keep it out of their net for the most part. I thought the team played better but there is still a lot of work to do, in a lot of facets.

Iknow we like to rip players here and actual hockey analysis is a stretch but-- the Rangers are SO SOFT again. It's terrible to watch them lose almost every puck battle along the boards, and worse the players they added into the forward lineup in meaningful ways are never going to intimidate anyone. Our 6th defensemen would not look out of place if he walked into a high school. Last years team had the mindset of being tough to play against. The organization seems to have already forgotten this and is going right back to skillfest type hockey. It's not going to work

I come in peace ... I was reading reactions to the game and was surprised how much Ranger fans hate Georgiev, I know him and TDA had issues but it seems like there's more to it than just that.

That really wasn’t a bad game. Was a goalie duel tIll the very end. Lots of SOG, Fox was brilliant in this game, and they matched up well against the defending champs. Game was very even, which is why it went to a SO.
I just wish Fox was like this every game. He raises his level in the biggest games but if he played every game like this he'd be the clear 2nd best defenseman in the league

We miss Zuccarello and Brassard, JT. Miller on our top line so dont worry, haha, and Ryan Mc. multi cup winner with Tampa...
Jokes aside, personally I have nothing against Georgiev; he is a good backup goalie, but maybe it is more based on his personality?`I really dont know... I had a break for some years doing photography.

He sulked a lot, and was painfully inconsistent. Refused to congratulate Shesterkin after victories. It's only about DeAngelo for a small bitter group of people here.

Just weird things like him looking pissed every time Shesterkin had a great game. But some of it is too much. I couldn't care less about him now unless we are playing him. Time to move on.

There are issues as others have mentioned. He wasn't buddy-buddy with Shesterkin.

Of course, he isn't obligated to be. He kind of became a scapegoat for everything people are frustrated about because there was this little thing people could point to, and as a backup goalie in general, he's an easy target.

I always thought he was a nice kid and I'm happy to see him starting. I still tend to believe it's a loud minority that has it out for him.

Agreed. I couldn’t care less if he wins or loses. He’s just another player.

The weird obsession of some over him is so f***ing cringe that I’m not sure it can be described in any other manner.

Right. Talk about living rent free. We have our own issues. Georgiev giving Shesterkin really weak fist bumps last season isn't one of them.

I don't think Georgiev is a top goalie, but the bar for a good goalie in Colorado is pretty damn low considering the recent times. Yes, Grubauer and Kuemper had great regular season stats there but they were still an adventure, and both failed miserably in the playoffs. Thus far, Georgiev even with his warts looks more comfortable. But it has only been 5 games so far...

As for the Rangers in this game, Gallant needs to mix it up. Yes, they played a tie against a good team, but just have a different look tonight against your rivals.

Georgiev is a shit starter but a really shit backup. Shit starter is all they need though I guess. He'll be better there as a starter than here as a backup.

My mentality is that shootout wins are fun ties, shootout losses are annoying ties.

We looked ok against the cup champs when we’ve been slumping, I’ll take it.

Guys we are 7 games into the season, and just lost in the skills competition to the defending champs. We were the better team after the 1st period. Step away from the ledge.

Kreider has been horrific so far and he's dragging down that line. Im not overly concerned, he just needs to see some pucks go in because hes had a ton of bad luck and its effected him. You can see it in the body language.

They need to shoot the f***ing puck as a team. They passed up so many good chances in order to make the extra pass. Goodrow's goal was literally a pass back to Trouba that went in the net. They played like this early on last year too so hopefully they snap out of it going forward.

The defense right now is a major issue. Gallant only trusts 2 pairs, and Lindgren has been horrible to start the year. They need a reliable veteran back there at some point.

As for Gallant, hes a culture changer coach, but he's a dime a dozen when it actually comes to in game coaching. I have no real issue with him, but would anyone be shocked if hes replaced by mid-season next year?

They better come out and play with some balls tonight against the Islanders or they will rightfully get eviscerated here. But its still so early in the season its hard for me to get too high or too low after individual games.

Seriously f*** that Georgiev celebration. Cringe. We lost TDA because of you and you’re mad at us or something?
feel your pain, maybe its best NOT to open that door again here, you might get ripped (not by me).
Don't recall Georgiev ever being booed for a bad performance.
Wouldnt be SHOCKED if he read the thousands of derogatory posts here. Not shocked at all, so THAT is what the hand waving probably was all about.

Fox not going was criminal. Mika's attempt was even more criminal. I still don't know what it was.

From what I saw with Zib, he seemed hindered by the spill at the end of OT and didn't realize how much until he was skating in and then the resulting swat at the puck. I could be wrong, but I'm not sure I ever seen him come down like that on a shootout.

Which is all the more reason why he shouldn't have taken a shot.

I'm still really scratching my head over the OT personnel selection.

True but I like to think that budding stars could help the team shake off the sluggishness.
They could and should. But I am not worried. They have been involved. They have had positive impacts during their shifts. They maintain puck possession and generate offensive opportunities. They have had chances too. They look more confident and assertive. The last 3 games;

San Jose - Bad luck all around for the team
CBJ - Just throw away that tape, those games happen and Halak did not help with at least 2 soft goals
Avs - Defending champs - it was a good hockey game. Chances for both teams - in fact i was impressed how the team responded in the 2nd to even the playing field, competing much harder.

So to me I am just not all that concerned. This team will be fine. Yes, there are sub-stories that concern me like Kravtsov, the bottom 6 needing one more quality forward (Motte type), and the last D pair needing a strong vet. But those are all things that can be addressed at the deadline.
