7 out 8 points and a hard fought win on back to back this late in the year, a gutty effort. I hope they end it with 2 vs the Yotes...They'll be rested and waiting and there is no love lost between these two teams. Should be very entertaining.

Lehtonen was terrific and I love the gutsy move of him skating to the bench while his team was still inthe zone.

Anaheim also plays Edmonton three times. Looks like those teams in the playoff hunt might just save our ass when it comes to the division. You never know. Maybe Cryin' Ryan can do another great thing for the Kings and score some goals.

We're entering April, which is usually that time of year where Smyth goes on vacation.

I liked what I saw out of the Clifford-Richardson-Toffoli 4th line. They were creating a lot of chances, cycling the puck real well, had lots of offensive zone time. It worked real well, IMO.

There is just so many options with the Kings right now. All 14 forwards can be effective in the right situation. Richardson just proved that we have no weaknesses among our forwards this year, IMO.

One thing I did not expect from Sutter is that I think he knows how to treat youngsters. He allows them the right role for them to succeed. Yes Toffoli played 4th line but he was playing some PP and was effective. Same as Voynov, King, Nolan last year he put them in positions to succeed respective to their skills, unlike many other coaches (cough Claude Noel cough). Love how he handles young players, just another positive with regards to his coaching.

Very, very true. And honestly, I like Toffoli anywhere but with Carter...they're too similar of players to have on the same line, imo. It's not a particularly bad combo, but doesn't seem to fit the team. I can see why Toffoli-Vey-Pearson is so nasty with Pearson getting dirty in the corners.

i wanna see
BROWN-KOPITAR-TOFFOLI
WILLIAMS-RICHARDS-CARTER

toffoli could be the sniper kopi needs and williams will create for mike and jeff but most importantly allow mike to shoot more :sarcasm:

I would like to see that as well. I think Toffoli should be fairly comfortable now and playing on the top line shouldn't intimidate him.

Scuderi still struggling. He's my goat this year.

Good win nonetheless.

Did you notice him cut off most of Dallas' pass attempts around the slot towards the end of the game? Aside from the screen on the PK that led to the Stars goal (and that's because Williams was way out of position), Scuderi played his game just fine today.

Can't believe that when Quick did a pretty OK match against Minnesota, could maybe have saved the second goal but thats it. But you guys go like quick suck in with JB etc.

Now JB got the chance and tbh he did not impress even a little bit, 5 shots 1 goal and i guess it ended something like 11-12 shots and 2 goals? Do not come and say that it was hard goals to save it was equal to goals that quick let in.

Bernier/Quick/whoever is in net...we were spoiled by top-of-the-league goaltending last year. Get used to what you see is what you get until they get hot again.

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.

Yes, if his game is giving the puck away in his own zone. At least twice in the third period he has the puck on his stick and just flubs it. He spends way too much time on one knee. I'm surprised opponents haven't figured it out and try a saucer pass.

Oh and Penner sucks.

Good win, nonetheless.

I guarantee you that if Scuds is not on this team next year, regardless of who else is on the blueline, we spend all year lamenting his loss.

He needs less minutes, absolutely. He's the least physical player out there along the boards. And he can move the puck about as well as a double amputee. But there is no one I trust more strictly defensively.

You need veteran players on your blueline. Since I'm pretty much expecting a Mitchell retirement announcement sometime next year, DL will either need to resign Scuderi or sign another veteran. What are our options for veteran UFA defense. Are there tremendous improvements over Scuds that we could afford?

I'm not expecting him to retire. Even if he never plays another game the team will pay him and place him on LTIR reserve. That way we can still use the cap space next year. Otherwise we just lose it he's on a 35+ contract.
