Good win, even some dreaded (by the NHL) physicality. Would have liked to see Frederic drop the gloves with Anderson in one of the scrums and build some identity this season.

McAvoy excellent impact.

It was a good win but it was nerve wracking when Marchand gets called for a penalty. The festivities today were great seeing the players like Cashman back at the garden. I was hoping to see Don Sweeney today, Sweeney was one of my favorite players in his era. He and Bourque were a great defense pair. That last goal the empty netter I was hoping McAvoy got the empty netter for a hat trick.

I was pumped when McAvoy scored that wrap around goal. So many goals are lost on attempted wrap arounds that slide off of players sticks with a gaping net to push the puck into.

Good game outside of the usual going to sleep in the third period. Though this one is at least understandable given they were up big..

- McAvoy? Yeah, more of this version. Looked way more decisive in his play. Less mistakes, more confidence.

- Defense went back to being structured.

- Swayman wasn't too hot, but didn't need to be.

My only pause for concern is this Montreal team is really bad. Defensive miscues everywhere, Primeau i think by statistics is the worst goalie in the league right now. Might have been a mirage but a win's a win. (though if you lit these clowns up, why couldn't you with pittsburgh?)
