McAvoy looked great the first game free of Lohrei (+4) and Lohrei"s new partner got drug down (-2).

Lohrei is a defensive NHL liability.

Sorry, but it's obvious. Right there in the game tape.

Sorry, but he's an anchor on whomever he is paired with.
Agree—with the current focus on getting back to their defensive structure Lohrei doesn’t fit. They are better off with Wotherspoon and Oesterle in the rotation over him. When H. Lindholm returns Lohrei is clearly a spare part until he continues to learn and grow his game on defense.

Also intrigued to see what Regula would look like under Sacco when he gets healthy

Quinn Hughes on the Canucks is good at this.
Shot blocking was not as prevalent the first decade of Bourque's career as equipment
wasn't what it became.
Yea not many are anymore but he is I agree .
Its like trying to beat 3 goalies to get it to the net, much harder now than Bourque's
early pàrt of career, though like Hughes they both are elite moving laterally.

Peeke is pretty bad also. His positional reads leave a lot to be desired.

What was thought a positional rock in their D Corp has shown to be a liability
so far, as Lohrei, Peeke and Zadorov have all had numerous breakdowns resulting in
points being lost. Add Carlo and McAvoy's up and down play and Swayman's struggles and it isn't a surprise they have skated off the ice losers more than winners.

I would still take Lohrei over Oesterle. Maybe its time to go 7D and 11F sometimes.
