It was a very high pressure game, super tense.....but it wasn't a cup final, it wasn't the olympics and it for sure wasn't the Summit Series.

In the end, I thought Hagen and Cerelli were effective on the forecheck and away from the puck.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I thought Point was one of the few Canadian players who could skate with and outskate the American players. His superior skating ability was acknowledged by Cooper when he put Point on McDavid’s line. Other than the big 3 M’s (McDavid, McKinnon and Makar) I think Point is as sure a bet to play for Team Canada at the Olympics before any Canadian player.

I know your president realized that Canada is ridiculously dependent on the USA , and thought what if America crushed Canada economically ? Could he make us desperate enough to ask for Statehood ? This is for real. All of a sudden, the USA is actually drifting towards being an enemy. To me , I cheered for Canada as I used to cheer for Canada against the Soviet Union during the Cold War. This just feels wrong, but to feel otherwise is to deny the reality we are in. America is not our friend and cannot be trusted, and it happened just like that.

I am so sad and embarrassed at what is happening.

I live in New England and most of us would love Canada to adopt us.

Dad was born in Halifax NS, and my grandparents were from Newfoundland. If Dad were still alive, he would be horrified.

Looking back , was good to be on same side as John cooper . He keeps on making great coaching calls when it counts most

It isn't about politics or who's the better candidate anymore. I disagree with my own father on politics but we don't threaten each other. Politics is about policies, governance, and diplomacy. Threatening another country's existence goes against international law, peace, and stability. So Gretzky deciding to side with the same people who threaten his country of origin makes him a traitor and a disgrace.

The leader of a country threatens an ally's sovereignty, its citizens then use that to mock said sovereignty. That country then loses, and acts like a victim?

Get the hell out of here. Such a cult. They didn't believe any of those thoughts until their brainless leader opened his mouth. Some of these folks don't have any thoughts in their head unless they are being fed. Absolutely shameful.

Team Canada didn't really seem like they ever gelled. The intensity of hockey was high but it wasn't the smooth-skating, smooth-passing, confident Team Canada that we knew from the Olympics domination years. They were either gripping their sticks too tight or something was wrong. Binnington being shaky didn't help.

Thats part of why this is so strange. I am in Halifax, Nova Scotia and besides family connections, we have more in common with New Englanders than with people in other parts of Canada. We send Boston a tree every year out of thanks for their sending medical relief trains after the Halifax Explosion. Boston sport fans are a huge group here. Our ties run deep.

I was not at all surprised that Trump won. Not to get deeper into politics, but things both there and here in Canada have gone in such a way that an inevitable " enough is enough " was coming. I just hoped that Trump would not come up with too many ( there would be some ) crazy and perhaps dangerous ideas. I saw the Ukraine position ahead of time, it was obvious. Never saw the global land grab though.

Yeah, I can only imagine the awkward feeling. " Oh God, what is he going to do next ? "
