Well that was a great game and awesome tournament. What a show the NHL put on while the lights were as bright as they've ever been. This is on the players that showed up and said "We're going all in!", so big ups to them. I'm happy team Canada won, but also happy for the NHL as an organization and hockey as a sport.

Lots of players paid the price though, teams are going to start hearing the bad news as the regular season kicks back up. The injuries make me think the 4 Nations is not realistic as a yearly thing. After the winter Olympics next year, a once every 4 year tournament in between each winter Olympics would make more sense, something like:

winter Olympics -> All Star game -> X-Nations Face-Off -> All Star game -> winter Olympics -> All Star...

A funny thing about this tournament is that every country had its moment. USA beat Canada in an emotionally charged game, Finland beat their rival Sweden, Sweden upset USA, Canada wins the championship. Every country's fanbase was really happy at some point hehe.

About the Habs though, I want to see Suzuki come back and finish the year with a chip on his shoulders and very mad a being robbed of the chance to be part of this moment. I want to see Caufield come back and finish the year angry that he wasn't given the opportunity to be out there and help. I want Slaf to have realized what a real power forward looks like and for him to have that "ah ha" moment.

I think the level of play and intensity we'll see on Saturday throughout the NHL will surprise a lot of people.

Marner and Matthews were the 2 best forwards tonight, hope this is a one off. Watching how fast these games were, the only player on the habs I see that can play at this speed is Hutson which is worrying.

At some point during the game I thought to myself "oh crap, could you imagine if Matheson was on the ice right now?" My anxiety kept rising

Finally...can't imagine how it would have ended up if Marner would have been with McDavid from the get go.....

On a sad note and going back to our little NHL league....let just say that Ottawa and Leafs are coming back from this pretty good. Great overall performances by Marner, Matthews, Tkachuk and Sanderson.
Matthews had his first shot of the tournament tonight.

That’s insanely bad.

Tell you want , I was one of his biggest detractors , but seeing him elevate , who ever signs him out toronto will get a hell if a player

Wasn’t he the responsibility of Mathews ?

Yes, Matthews left McDavid and followed the puck to Marner. Fox was out of position and late on Marner.
