As I recall Krebs was horrible before he got to the 4th line, that's why he was sent there. I wanted to send him to Rochester. Now maybe he could handle the breakaway chaos of the top lines, and maybe not, but i don't think he's entirely out of place where he is.
Everyone who plays with Olofsson is awful. They started the year with Olofsson in Tuch’s spot and he managed to stop Tage and Skinner.

Krebs will be getting 13 to 14 minutes a night which is appropriate looking at the forwards. He will move up the lineup when needed and as injury fill in. I'm more interested in if he is a PK option this season.

One more season with KO and ZG...I dont see why that's an issue.

9. Peyton Krebs, C

1/26/2001 | 6-feet | 187 pounds | Shoots left

Acquired via trade
Tier: Middle of the lineup player

Skating: NHL average
Puck skills: NHL average
Hockey sense: Above NHL average
Compete: Above NHL average
Shot: Below NHL average

Analysis: Krebs had a solid NHL season and world championships for Canada. He’s a good skater who works hard and has legitimate skill and hockey sense. I wouldn’t call him the most dynamic player in the world, and given that he’s not that big it’s led to moderate success in the pros as opposed to the dominant junior player he was. I think Krebs will help an NHL team for a while, but it’s probably more in the way of a two-way middle-six wing than an impact type of player.

Why isn't he producing more?
I expected 0.5 ppg which might still happen but now he's trending more in the way of Johan Larsson.

Can someone explain 23/24 Peyton Krebs to me?

Overly high expectations. He's a decent two-way FW with some grit in his game, but he's not especially talented at anything. His so-called best attribute was his "vision" which was really just a lot of ambitious passing that worked in juniors...not the NHL. He doesn't have a good shot, he's not physically imposing, he doesn't win many battles on the boards, and he still makes some dumb passes. IMO opinion he's pretty good in his own end and does well as a 4C that won't add much in pt production. I'll take a 25-30 pt 4C with some upside left. Nothing to complain about really.

Yep. He wouldn't be the first highly skilled guy from juniors who couldn't translate the offense at the next level. But to his credit, he's done the work needed to re-invent his game and stick around in a bottom 6 role. He's still got a career in front of him. And as long as he's still an asset to this team, and he's being paid appropriately, then as much as we focus on the "didn't reach his potential" part, the "helping the team in his current role" part is just as important.

Mark Stone on Krebs:

“I’m sure he’s looking for more of an opportunity,” Stone told The Buffalo News following the Golden Knights’ practice Thursday at City National Arena. “He’s kind of been placed in the fourth line there the past two years when he’s used to being a prolific scorer in juniors and an offensive guy. He’s one of the smarter players I’ve ever been around. I think he eventually gets his opportunity. I hope he does.

“I think he’s [capable of] more than just playing on the fourth line, killing penalties. Sees the ice really well and has offensive talent. Really composed with the puck. For me, at least, I hope they can get him in more of an offensive position because he’s a pretty damn good player.

I suppose if he actually ever performed like a competent NHL player he could.

See the ice really well?

Has offensive talent?

Composed with the puck?

Is Stone referring to another Krebs we don't know about? Is Mark Stone stoned?

Krebs and his blind behind the back passes. That's what we've seen.

It says a lot that with Thompson, Tuch, Quinn, and other top six forwards out that the coaching staff doesn't believe in Krebs enough to bump him up much.

Yeah Mark Stone...100%, you're on to something you genius. Wonder if Vegas would take him back for a heavier forward?
