If you want to be a good regular season team, keep EP. If you actually want to win playoff games, you keep Miller. EP, like the Sedins, is too soft for playoff hockey. You can't win the ultimate prize with players like
Definitely agree, never cared for the Sedins. You want an example of soft? Watch Marchand making them look like complete doofuses. Yeah that was the captain. Pettersson is cut from the same cloth. No cajones.

Jesus dude, why not just add a few more 1sts and the rest of our top prospects while you're at it
A 1 st round draft pick this or next year will likely be very late.
Trading Ehlers and a prospect like Lambert hurts but solid top 6 C's don't grow on trees.
Barlow's development hasn't been as progressive as I had hoped, but if they chose Neiderr it would open a little cap space.
Anything to get Logan Stanley off the ice.

Rationalize it however you want. That's a horrible, completely lopsided overpayment, even if Ehlers was unsigned and not willing to re-up. Hell, look at any of the biggest trades over the last 10 years and show me that kind of value that was given up. Also the Jets just got rid of Wheeler and got the room right. You think they want to go through that again?

By that logic, you should trade Miller. That pattern indicates Miller is the common factor in all feuds. Maybe a troll post hoping they'll trade Hughes to the oilers?

:huh::fence:
That would be my logic without talking to the core. If Miller keeps beefing with other core players and the rest get along well that's the answer.

If he’s available, Dallas should be all over Pettersson. If that means a deal is Wyatt Johnson, Lian Bichsel and Mavrik Bourque, you make the deal. He’s a 90-100 point pivot in this league. You win Stanley Cups “up the middle.”

Salary Cap would obviously have to be fixed in the off-season but it basically guarantees Dallas is a contender for the next 7-10 years.

You really believe he's worth the Stars top 3 young players? Boy I have news for you.

Frost + Drysdale for JT Miller
Tippet + Frost for JT Miller
Chytil + Schneider + Smith (50% retained) for JT Miller
Trochek + Schneider for JT Miller
Marner for JT Miller + Descharnais or Hoglander
McMichael + Chychrun + Duhaime for JT Miller + Hoglander
Rossi + Merrill for JT Miller
Bennett + Mikkola + Samoskevich for JT Miller

Power for Petersson
Thompson + Byram for Petersson
Barzal + Romanov for Petersson
Batherson + Pinto for Petersson
Compher + Edvinsson + Kasper for Petersson
Fantilli + Provorov + Mateychuk for Petersson
I’m curious to hear from non-canucks fans, which if any of these proposals would be acceptable?

Maybe barzal romanov? Possibly Owen power?

Don’t see the caps being interested, although I know they have kicked the tires on JTM in the past and I think he would be a good fit with the team culture. They have 2 top 6 C’s locked in long term now though

Dallas locking in their forward group with EP and Robertson would be contender suicide

Barzal and Romanov or Batherson and Pinto.

As for Miller, JT Miller for Marner 1 for 1 is more fair except for Marner’s UFA status. Not sure why Vancouver would add though.

Frost + Drysdale for JT Miller Both decline
Tippet + Frost for JT Miller Both decline
Chytil + Schneider + Smith (50% retained) for JT Miller VAN declines
Trochek + Schneider for JT Miller VAN declines
Marner for JT Miller + Descharnais or Hoglander Both decline
McMichael + Chychrun + Duhaime for JT Miller + Hoglander Caps decline
Rossi + Merrill for JT Miller I would decline if I were MIN but Rossi's name always seems to be out there ...
Bennett + Mikkola + Samoskevich for JT Miller Interesting but I think both decline

Power for Petersson Both teams say yes
Thompson + Byram for Petersson BUF declines
Barzal + Romanov for Petersson NYI declines even though they shouldn't
Batherson + Pinto for Petersson VAN declines
Compher + Edvinsson + Kasper for Petersson DET declines
Fantilli + Provorov + Mateychuk for Petersson If Jarmo were still here he would say yes but Waddell declines
I really only see Buffalo, maybe NYI and Utah as legit trading partners in-season. I'm sure Nashville and NYR would love to make a move but I don't see them having the assets for a hockey deal. As always being indecisive in the summer completely nuked their options. A whole lot of teams -- WSH, CAR, WPG, NSH, NJD, UTH, STL, NYR -- were extremely vocal about wanting to make significant shakeups and the majority of them did in the offseason. Most of those options aren't around anymore though.
