Rumor: Pettersson and JT Miller Part XVIII: We wont play nice in the team sandbox

Seems like the sabres are blowing this opportunity bigtime
The Sabres are not going to get a playoff spot, there is no urgency in their end. Changes will be made now or in the offseason. Quicker does not help them

Vancouver is fighting for a playoff spot. Changes will have an impact for this year whether it helps or hurts is the question for the canucks

In the offseason Pettersson will probably no available and we will lose again, as always.

Friedman suggesting Colorado as a destination for Miller

Assuming Mittlestadt would be heading to Van, with them taking on that contract what assets would be added from an Avs perspective that would make it fair from their end. Would love to hear from Avs fans on this.
Hopefully the Canucks have absolutely no interest in him….Rutherford said they are under contract and will only be traded if it helps the team…..tough shit if they don’t like it….

Actually the cap going up 7.5 mil next season and off-season moves to free up additional space may make the market open up more….

Not until July 1, teams will already have a pretty good idea of who they want to cut and what acquisitions they may attempt to make.
Yes, which reduces our chances of getting Pettersson, we don’t have any problems with the cap anyway and won’t have any next season.

Adams hasn't had urgency for 5 years.

Aren’t the Canucks literally on a 3 game win streak and 1 point out of a playoff spot?

This must be some f***ed up emo stuff going on.

Make a trade only if it makes the team better.
Yes, the same team that strung together their first 3 game win streak in, what, two months.

What would be more of an improvement, fixing this dramatic situation, or worrying about how Colorado could stay ahead of us and keeping two players that are the root cause of this dysfunction though? If we stand pat and do nothing, I don't see the team coming close to the playoffs.

I don’t take issue with you saying that we can trade with Colorado.

It’s the doom and gloom about the Canucks being unable to make the playoffs unless there’s changes and the dramatic expression of that. The team currently is 1 pt out. They just got Hronek back and Demko looked like Vezina Demko for the first time in his recovery during his last start.

The team doesn’t need surgery to win. Realistically, they need a top 3D and good health to be a contender.

If they can get a good deal moving Miller or Petey, they should do it. But that’s always the case.

In response to other posters, BUF should be motivated to get Petey, who is on a long-term deal, before his NTC kicks as it’s their most likely route to acquire a #1 centre.
