Cozens is far better than Cam York even when he’s spent the year on the struggle bus.
Byram is much better than Cozens

York has been very solid this year. Cozens at $7M+ is nothing I would be interested in. Byram is also on the verge of his own $7M+ contract. The difference between Byram and York everything considered, isn’t that vast.
If Philly is willing to move York, their 1st a player like Foerster and maybe another prospect/pick/roster player, is Buffalo going to beat that? They certainly can, but so far they’ve been reluctant to make a great offer otherwise Pettersson might already be a Sabre.

I'm not sure its York that Van would be interested in with Hughes and Hronek there already. I would think its more Tippett that would be of interest

I think it's funny how people in this thread or specifically from the Flyers perspective are saying like Brink, York, and 1st for Pettersson when Martin Necas a player on pace for close to 100 points (probably will get it playing with Mac) could not even return Pettersson. York is amazing defensively, he is a good piece and would be a need for the Canucks. Cates and Forester are also in a similar position where they are good defensive forwards with Foerster having good offensive potential, however I feel that the Canucks would want a player with a flashy name, like Konecny and then someone like York (who is significantly better than cates/foerster)

yeah but miller is also lazy, takes shifts off and thinks he's the coach. torts would bench him inside 5 minutes

From what I see, they would need both a D and a C coming back. If you take a center out to replace the need on D, it creates a hole at center. Canucks fans would have to comment but the center depth looks thin as it is.

JT Miller is going to be making mid 2nd/3rd liner salary in three years, his contract is such a steal man.
You better not trade him for nothing.
Also ep40 contract will also look much better as well, especially if he plays even remotely close to his potential

And I don’t get thrilled about giving a contract out of nearly 12 million for that.
But I can understand if I’m in the minority on that. I just don’t see him as an 80 point player either.

I remember talking about a looming cap increase after Covid and the NHLPA outstanding balance will be paid off ahead of schedule. Fans laughed and laughed and belittled it. Where are those fans at now?
There is going to be a shock to the system with these high increases. GM's are going to take fits with Agents pushing up AAV's

Peterka is not a center and is not a line driver. Cozens is terrible, damn, have you watched the games and seen his metrics? He was worse than Thompson, McLeod and Kulih and has generally looked terrible for the second year in a row. Pettersson has already shown that he is a great 1C, and if he had not had a strange season, he would not have traded. If anything, last season he had 89 points, and compare that to Cozens or Peterka.

This is definitely better value.
Other than this year he has hovered right around ppg in his career. 70-90 points, 30+ goals and solid defensive metrics is his normal range.

Its not about their contracts. Rutherford already said "the situation is untenable". They cant coexist. At least one will be traded.
