Rumor: Pettersson and JT Miller Part XVIII: We wont play nice in the team sandbox

The editorial around the quotes is f***ing laughable.

EP is somewhere between a whiny pissbaby and a lazy asshole. Richardson himself could see it. Wanting your teammate to at least pretend to make an effort to live up to his contract doesn't make you abusive.

You simply don't know these players at all.

Last year Pettersson had 89 points. The year before he had 102 points, right up there with Miller. Miller has absolutely no right to be getting on this guy.

Pettersson is out there making an effort to get back defensively every game. He plays excellent defensively. Lazy players don't play good defence. Miller is the one that simply gives up... a lot. Richardson comments are extremely telling, along with all the other problems Miller has had with other players. He is toxic. That's why we aren't getting good offers for him.

Richardson's comments are telling.. that EP is lazy but what Miller does isn't the nice way to go about handling it

Is he actually lazy though or is it just that he looks disinterested due to his introverted personality?

I doubt he got where he is by being lazy and not putting in the work.

I want nothing to do with Pettersson.

Fantilli is currently playing 1C for a way overachieving team too. To say he's pretty bad is insane.

Wait, you do know that the internet is a thing that exists for people outside of Columbus? Since when is 28 points in 50 games considered 1C production? If that's the case, Pius Suter is approaching #1 center territory lmao.

Pettersson in his rookie season has produced more points than Fantilli has throughout his 2 seasons thus far, and I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the season that still stands. Everything about Fantilli's underlying numbers in the sheltered minutes he's played suggest he's not good.

I'd honestly prefer to keep Pettersson over any of the garbage offers being thrown around, even if that came at the cost of dumping Miller for nothing.

That poster is saying Fantilli is now playing center on the first line.

Fantilli just turned 20. And I guarantee you he'll never be as butthurt about a player being hard on him as Pettersson is. I would love Miller but I just dont see how he fits long term.

When you go from 100 pts to pacing for 60ish.. it's a lot more than a personality that looks disinterested.

I mean ultimately no, no person to make it to that level is inherently lazy. But there are quite a few very handsomely paid players (EP, Marner, Matthews, Nylander, Panarin, and a bunch more) that are quite obviously lacking in the give-a-shit department relative to both their peers and their paychecks

Does EP look like lazy player when you watch him play (assuming you have watched him play).
Compared to what he was a few years ago and in the covid playoff? Abso-f***ing-lutely. Dude got his payday and checked right out (well he checked out well before then, but close enough)

I understand, my point is he isn't close to being an actual 1st line center with all due respect.

It's hilarious seeing some of the trash offers on one hand and then on the other the same posters are projecting Pettersson as their 1st line center for the next 5-10 years.

You keep going back to my post and trashing the CBJ take, and I just keep sitting here saying I dont want Pettersson at all lol. Dude got his money, he'll never be the same player again. We've seen it over and over. Again, would love Miller though.

What are you talking about?
Your agenda of course. For instance, I love how you conveniently leave out the fact that Brad Richardson (among many others) loves Miller and what he brings to a team/locker room. You'd rather paint an inaccurate picture where EP is an innocent victim of unrelenting and undeserved bullying. It sounds very similar to the discourse by the Finnish Five where Laine was concerned in Winnipeg.

That’s fine, I didn’t expect him to be a 1C at age 20. Nor do I ever expect his point totals to be very high paying here tbh. He is not Jack Hughes, but like Hughes I expect him to take a big step year 3. 13P (+9) in his last 12GP though.

Pettersson scored 89 points last year and 102 the year before that, along with being very good defensively. He is very quiet in the locker room - not screaming at or getting on his teammates. You say EP is not innocent. What has he done wrong that gives Miller the right to be getting on him for the last 4 years?

Playoffs last year is all I can think of. That and his production since he signed on the dotted line.

But the top c is currently in this pickle because he's too soft...
Come on, neither are grinders but KJ is on a entirely different level.

In 36 GP Johnson has ONE hit and 12 blocked shots.

In 44gp Pettersson has 40 hits and 57 blocked shots.

The Miller issues apparently stem from him not playing through his knee tendinitis to a level to Miller's liking.
