Rumor: Pettersson and JT Miller Part XVIII: We wont play nice in the team sandbox

EP40

For

Mikael Granlund
Will Smith or Quentin Musty
Sj 2025 2nd

Both teams should be happy walking out of the meeting room, SJ gets the best player in the deal, Van gets 2C replacement at cheap plus a promising young prospect. I think value wise it is very close given the situation Van is in.
uhh.....hard pass brother

I never said trade him. Its totally up to him if he chooses to resign or leave. A player isnt supposed to be able to control what happens with team management.
"If Hughes isn't willing to be captain and struggle for a few more years, than he clearly isn't that interested in staying to begin with."

What does this mean then? If he's not willing to struggle, you know like they have for the last 6 years to win a cup, that he should should up waste his prime years and stay in Vancouver while they rebuild for his remaining years? The man is a Generational talent. Possibly and arguably the greatest pure talent barring Bure and the Twins, that the Canucks have ever had. The position is to show Quinn that being in Vancouver is not a waste of time, that they want to win. He loves the city, he likes playing here, but why in the hell would you want to make him upset and want him to leave because you blew up the team due to drama? Allvin and Rutherford need to get good players back, not futures. Quinn is the present and future of the Canucks. You can shoot everyone else out of a cannon, but you better be getting some artillery back that's good now, not 5 or 6 years from now.

I just don't get this. These guys are adults working in a business where they earn 10s of millions. Stop acting like teenage jocks for two seconds and learn to be professional. What did they possibly do to each other that makes working together so difficult? Baring a sleeping with the wife situation, players should be able to work things out. Obviously certain people like Avery or DeAngelo have something wrong with them and can't be fixed, but guys like Miller and Pettersson should be able to sort this out. You don't have to be best friends off the ice, just be professional in the locker room and give it your all on the ice.

JT Miller is an ultra competitive asshole who gets on teammates and Pettersson is the guy who is in his crosshairs due to his soft inconsistent play.

Both are at fault.

Pettersson for underplaying.

JT Miller for thinking he is Michael Jordan.
This is mostly JT Miller being abusive towards Pettersson, to the point Pettersson has been worn down to playing poorly, like Brad Richardson said would happen.-

I even told him, ‘You’re too hard on the kid,'” Richardson told Shane O’Brien on the latest episode of O’Brien’s Missin’ Curfew podcast.

Richardson indicated that whatever was vexing Miller about Pettersson was something he could see, too — but the approach Miller was taking was the wrong one. You can’t constantly be after him.

“When you’re on him, on him, he’s going to shut it down,” Richardson said.

And this has been going on for years now. Abusive asshole.

Pettersson is a very quiet person who would not get on anybody, so this isn't on him at all. Miller has had issues with other players, so he has to go. Then we can get a 26 old 100 point player vs a 31 year old 100 point player. It's no coincidence that while Miller was away for 10 games, Pettersson was scoring at a 120 point pace.

I see the Canucks fan cope is still full steam ahead. The f***ing President of the team came out and said there is no solution to this problem and that one of them will have to be traded…and people are still saying it’s being exaggerated? lol
[shrugs]
Its being exaggerated in the sense that folks who’ve never broken anything about the Canucks are talking about Hughes rumours and Boeser rumours and Demko rumours. They’re talking about rebuilds and fire sales. Don’t think anyone’s saying there is no issue - just that clickbait reporting and tumescent rival fans are piling on to a stupid degree.

Full roster finally healthy. Demko regaining form. Three wins in a row. Evidence of stupidly lowball offers for Miller. Cap rising in the off-season. Deal with it then. It is what it is.

How did you get along with the bully at school? You simply avoid him. Not so easy in this setting though.

You can blame Aquilini and Benning for squandering his prime years. Not the current situation.

The unwillingness to do a proper rebuild years ago is catching up to them. The core they have isnt good enough. Period.

Petey has checked out. Miller wants out. Demko's durability is a huge question mark.

The odds of them winning the deals they are innevitably going to make are low. So its either go all in for a couple more years on a core that isnt good enough and doesnt want to play together or resetting for 2 to 3 years.

If Quinn decides to leave after his contract is up, thats on him.

You cant just magically create a Stanley Cup contender for Hughes because his time in Vancouver is potentially coming to an end.

I feel like Vancouver has spent a ton of time looking at the Kevin lowe model on how to run a team into the ground.
Kevin Lowe went to a cup final building a team. I think you are thinking of the opposite.

Meanwhile, your team is drowning and being an absolute embarrassment years on now lol

The editorial around the quotes is f***ing laughable.

EP is somewhere between a whiny pissbaby and a lazy asshole. Richardson himself could see it. Wanting your teammate to at least pretend to make an effort to live up to his contract doesn't make you abusive.
