David Rittich got a third round pick back so it’s going to be more than a third. I don’t see a team giving up a first for a goalie rental (has that ever happened before?). So more than a third but less than a first in value.
Oilers traded a 1st for Roloson and went all the way to the SCF that season. The Blues did it for Ryan Miller if I remember right.
I think Tampa did it for Dwyane Rolosson too.
I think Chicago should get a 2nd, maybe a conditional 2nd with easy conditions. That is before thinking about any retentionTarget a 2nd, settle on a 3rd.
No to "last 4 picks of the 3rd or a 4th" offer above
conditional 3rd round draft pick - no retention.
condition - if Carolina does not make the conference finals or better it becomes a 4th round pick.
If he didn’t have the reputation he has, he’d still be in Detroit, Philly, Carolina or Toronto. He plays great, until that pressure switch gets turned on. Then one bad goal, turns into a complete breakdown mentally.
It’s who he is.
He is mediocre. 5th would be a fair offer.Target a 2nd, settle on a 3rd.

Then just don't trade him, duhHe is mediocre. 5th would be a fair offer.
Send us Jack and a truck full of riches (1st+), and we will send you Saint Peter. He's made some nice saves in Edmonton tonight. Given Campbell's collapse, I wouldn't be opposed to him coming to Edmonton.
I wonder what the real cost would be on top of the 1st.Send us Jack and a truck full of riches (1st+), and we will send you Saint Peter.
